Teemburra Dam is spilling excess water into Teemburra Creek. Water flows from Teemburra Dam is expected to remain within beds and banks of Teemburra Creek.
There is no immediate danger.
Residents downstream of Teemburra Dam and the Pinnacle and Gargett community are advised to:
decide what to do if flooding starts.
not enter floodwater, rivers or creeks.
stay informed by:
monitoring Teemburra Dam’s level

Congratulations to Jeffrey Timor, affectionately known as Uncle JT, who was named Volunteer of the Year at our Let's Celebrate Mackay HHS People Awards recently.

Uncle JT is a beacon of hope and joy for patients at Mackay Base Hospital. His visits to wards to sing and play guitar are eagerly anticipated by Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian South Sea Islander patients as well as his non-indigenous friends.

Uncle JT’s presence is a source of comfort and happiness, especially for renal patients who find solace in his music.

Despite facing his own health challenges, he never fails to bring a smile, a joke and a song to those around him. His unwavering dedication and positive spirit are truly inspiring.

Uncle JT’s guitar playing is more than just music; it’s a heartfelt connection that lifts the spirits of everyone he meets.

His selfless acts of kindness and his ability to brighten even the darkest days make him an invaluable part of our Mackay HHS community.

Our wonderful long time radio presenter Jeff Timor was honored with a Volunteer of the Year award presented to him by the Mackay Hospital and Health Service People Awards tonight. JT would be to thank the Hospital 🏥 & he enjoys his time at the Renal Ward, singing to patients and giving them some solace whilst they receive treatment. The other organisations he likes to spend time with is the Bama Men’s Group, Binga Birri Justice Group and My105.9FM.
