Dear Valued Followers,

As you may have noticed, Animal Actors hasn’t been very active, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the film industry, and the aftereffects were felt far and wide. In addition to Animal Actors, we manage another business, including a rare breeds farm, which also faced challenges during this time.

We decided to take a bit of a break after covid to regroup and recover. Now, we are excited to announce that we are ready to relaunch our website in the next few weeks. We will gradually be getting back into the swing of things and reconnecting with our wonderful community. We are also hashing out the possibility of a return to our training courses for film/Tv/tricks.

To those who have moved to other providers, we wish you well. For those who have stayed with us, we deeply appreciate your support and can’t wait to see your animals on screen once more.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. We are looking forward to brighter days ahead.

It’s been a bit of a tough week at the AA farm, we lost part of our house ( yes we have insurance ) but most Importantly all humans and animals are ok. Bit of a clean up ahead of us but we have a good support network ❤️

Animal Actors will be offering training classes in the not too distant future on a Wednesday evening and Sunday day. With over 40+ years in the industry Christine is a wealth of knowledge not just for Film and television but for other areas as well. Sally will be taking puppy and introduction classes. I was checking out the new cat scratching posts in Kmart, not thrilled with their quality I deviated to the baby section. This section is excellent as they have a lot of sensory items that are good for training. Whilst I was in the wooden toy and puzzle section I came across this wooden directors set, too cute not to pass up, only good for small/toy size animals but this sort of thing makes fantastic character shots.

Round the Twist is now streaming on Netflix, lots of childhood memories for me and lots of cold work days for Christine. She spent many many hours working on this very funny series. The series was screened in over 70 countries by broadcasters such as Fox Kids (USA), BBC One (UK), Nickelodeon (UK), CBC Television (Canada), France 2 (France), ZDF (Germany), Network 2 (Ireland) and NHK (Japan). Such wonderful memories and super proud to be involved with Patricia Edgar and the ACTF.

We are sorry to hear about Christine’s loss of her dog Toffee. Loosing a pet can be a difficult and emotional experience, especially when they have been with you for many years. Making the decision to say goodbye to a pet is never easy, but it’s a selfless act of love to ensure that they no longer suffer 💔

Auditions will be held for our next intake of potential doggy 'stars' on Sunday April 30th at 2 pm in Macclesfield, Victoria. Please email [email protected] for the address and, to confirm your place. We are looking for enthusiastic owners who are flexible with their time as, if your dog is chosen for a part, you will be asked to work on weekdays and be prepared for early starts. If you wish to undertake training to improve your skills, you may do so by enrolling in one of our Animal Actors training courses. Dogs do not have to be highly trained as we can help you with that but they must be friendly and outgoing with people. We have parts for dogs from basic to highly skilled. If you think you and your dog have what it takes, then come on down!
