What a sensational young woman is. From humble beginnings in Launceston she returned to her home town today to pass on some insights and inspiration to a new crop of swimmers with dreams of Olympic destiny. It was a pleasure to facilitate this activation for and rebel in the very trendy new store in and give Arnie a big hug - seems like only yesterday a bright-eyed reporter recorded the hopes and dreams of our sensational swim star!

What a lovely honour it was to be asked to take part in National Simultaneous Storytime at Scottsdale Library today. A divine book by Aura Parker, Bowerbird Blues was a delight to read to about 90 attendees at the session. It was secretly my chance to live out a childhood dream of being a Play School presenter!

“Meet the parents!” - say hello to Gary and Gaile, Rachel’s parents, who have taken on the important weekly job of delivering your newspaper to North-East outlets and into the trusty hands of our paper kids.
Gazza grew up in Scottsdale and is enjoying spending more time driving across the region with his trusty side-kick, who is always up for a chat! Make sure you say g’day when they are out and about!
Today’s paper has been in high demand - with 16 pages full of news that impacts you.
From the Scottsdale murder charge, the future of Anabel’s, the reaction to a proposed tractor ban, a special story on two Scottsdale girls making waves in the footy world and a comprehensive wrap of the Scallop Fiesta event that brought hundreds of tourists to our area - there’s something for everyone.
We went to press before the Dorset Council’s elected councillors were stood down this morning while a Board of Inquiry takes place. Next week, we will have all the details of how this will affect you and how things will operate under commissioner Andrew Wardlaw for the 7-month duration of the inquiry.

I developed my passion for writing and storytelling 23 years ago when I first walked into the door of my local paper as a bright-eyed and bubbly cadet journalist.
I learnt much from the best in the business about the importance of local journalism and community.
Today I present my first edition of my very own newspaper! I hope you can find a copy or subscribe on-line to support this exciting new chapter in my career.

What a big first week on the job!
From a four-page Scallop Fiesta Feature to your local news and sport across 16-pages, it's been a steep learning curve for your new Editor. I hope you enjoy reading your copy when it hits the stands tomorrow!

I’ve been blown away by the support and encouragement I have received since yesterday’s announcement about my North Eastern Advertiser purchase.
I spent today breathing in the world’s freshest air at Marrawah, feeling all the emotions, as I completed a tourism shoot in the far North West.
I look forward to completing the projects I currently have for my amazing clients and I will continue to schedule MM work where appropriate and when I have time.
I look forward to hitting the ground in the North-East in the coming weeks and getting stuck into sourcing some interesting local stories! Hopefully a few scoops too!!

An exciting new project for Millwood Media.
I am beyond proud to be the new owner and editor of the North Eastern Advertiser
The area holds a very special place in my heart and I’m positive it has a bright future.

We are so pleased to announce that our beloved paper has been saved from closure and will continue to operate as a weekly independent edition under the ownership of Rachel Williams.
Rachel is a familiar face, known for being a respected journalist and former television presenter with a great love for community news and the North-East corner.
She will be taking on the role of Editor from Wednesday July 12 and looks forward to immersing herself in all things local.
We look forward to a smooth transition over the coming weeks.

It was a privilege to attend Government House last night for a supporter thank you. I’ve always been honoured to emcee many of the organisation’s functions around the state to raise money for vital cancer services in Tasmania. I’ve lost friends and family to this insidious disease in my lifetime and in the last five years alone had five beautiful friends diagnosed. Four have bravely beaten it but one is still in the fight of her life and I am praying she will survive. I’ve put a link in the comments to a fundraiser I’m organising for her if you are so inclined to buy a raffle ticket 🙏
Thank you Penny Egan for your leadership as CEO and enjoy your retirement later this year.

This has been a fantastic project to develop for TICT - involving written and video content. So much natural beauty combined with innovative and enthusiastic tourism operators in the North East Corner of Tassie - a place very special to me!.

⭐ Launch of the North East Corner Tassie Tourism Ambassador Module! ⭐

The Tassie Tourism Ambassador Program has been created specifically for the Tasmanian tourism industry as a way to equip tourism and hospitality staff and interested locals with skills to offer a great visitor experience and local knowledge to tell the story of the region.

We couldn't be more excited to launch the fifth Tasmanian destination module – the North East Corner!

The North East Corner Ambassador module covers the northern stretch of the East Coast from Scamander to Musselroe Bay in the far north-east, back along to the north coast to Bridport and continues inland to the major townships of Scottsdale and St. Marys. A vast area rich in natural and heritage values.

To celebrate this newest module, we will be hosting TWO launch events - one in St Helens on Wednesday 7 June, and another in Scottsdale on Thursday 8 June. If you work in tourism and hospitality in the North East of Tassie, come along and celebrate with us! Check out the event information below:

Celebrating International Women’s Day thinking of all the inspirational, innovative and interesting women I have had the pleasure of learning from on my journey.
It was a pleasure to interview Jennifer Watt, the newly appointed CEO of the North Melbourne Football Club, at the recent Women In Leadership lunch that I hosted for Cricket Tasmania - whose amazing women’s team dominated for another season!
I look forward to following Jennifer’s journey - she’s certainly a formidable woman!
