Nothing quite like seeing a baby humpback whale breaching. Jo Ward captured the first image of this one putting on a little show on Sunday afternoon off the Sunshine Coast. "We suspected it was feeding time as the cow and calf were close to shore with limited surface activity, and then the calf started breaching which suggests... a bit of playtime after lunch,'' he told us. Sandra Macheroux reported there were lots of whales heading south. "Two mums and their calves entertained the many onlookers around 3pm." Jeffrey Addison was also on hand to capture the magic. Boaties are reminded they need to keep a good distance from the whales so as not to interfere with the migration north and south each year.
