📢 WAGE UNDERPAYMENT
From 1 Jan 2025, intentional underpayment of wages becomes a criminal offence. Penalties: up to $7.825M for companies or 10 years in prison for individuals. A Voluntary Wage Compliance Code is coming. More info: Fair Work Ombudsman.

🌱 PLASTICS BAN
No more banned plastic items (e.g., polystyrene cups, plastic spoons) from 1 Jan 2025. Switch to alternatives now. Info: NSW EPA.

🕒 RIGHT TO DISCONNECT
From 26 Aug 2025, employees can decline work contact outside hours unless unreasonable. Tips: Fair Work Ombudsman.

📊 TAX & BAS REFORMS
Big changes for tax agents start 1 Jan 2025 (1 July for smaller practices). Ensure compliance with stricter standards. Details: Tax Practitioners Board.

💼 PAYROLL, SUPER & BAS
Payroll tax: 14 Jan 2025
