There’s a magic that happens in moments where you can see not only what’s there but also what might be there. I love to play with the ethereal nature of reality, the illusions that show themselves like the unsettled ghosts that swirl about the place where I live.
My images are a one-time meeting between myself, my camera and the atmospherics of where I happen to be. I know this moment won’t happen again. It’s fleeting, impermanent, and the images are elusive, they transform as I’m watching them. I want my images to be an honest reflection of my thoughts on my time here. I think about what these moments are made up of - is it my reality, my imagination? Is it something that only my camera sees - or something else?
It's great to be part of 'Images Of Tasmania' this year! There really is so many amazing artists on show and so much to take in. I hope you get a moment to go and see all the work on display. Daily till 6th Jan.
