ROSEY + JONATHAN
Rosey had had enough of the less than stellar matchups she’d had, and was determined to find a better quality of human to have fun with, so when she matched with Jonathan, and was excited to discover that he could make her laugh, well that very quickly elevated him to gold standard. It’s an important quality being able to make someone laugh, and Rosey dearly loves to laugh.
After matching, and chatting - Jonathan even being vouched for by a mutual friend, who confirmed he was a ‘good guy’ and ‘not a murderer’ - they teed up a date at an interesting little establishment called the Cheeky Pokè Bar named for that famous Hawaiian delicasy - not to be confused with the Cheeky Poke Bar, a popular gentlemans establishment just down the road.
The night was a roaring success but Rosey, needing to be up in the wee hours of the morning, had to call it at 8pm. As Jonathan’s heart audibly broke he thought this must be a line!
Rosey, as she drove away, tried to illustrate her very real keenness for him and the whole situation by waving enthusiastically at Jonathan as she passed by. Unfortunately, he was doing his best impression of a sad Charlie Brown and did not see.
Now, we needn’t feel too sorry for that younger Jonathan - spoiler alert, there’s a very, very happy ending to this tale. One full of belly laughs and in jokes, fabulous hair and the very best of people. The best night, and the best stories. Hell yes, my friends. :D

DION + PAULA
If you were to take all the best parts of People and Love and Adventure and Strength and boil it down to form two concentrated packages in human form, you’d have Dion and Paula.
So many stories and moments brought these two to their Wintery elopement at Pumphouse Point along with a couple of friends including photographer mate Luke Lornie, wielding the lens.
From jokes about Seamen and echoes of ‘that’s what she said’ prior to go-time (CONTEXT. I promise there was context) to elegant memories of travel, wine, and friends - this was a truly special day.

AASCHA + NICK
Let me just start by saying - can we all start adding dinosaurs to our photos?!
Aascha and Nic first met here in Hobart, back in the days when they spent their days at the Menzies institute or around the UTAS campus.
And of course, being often in the same place, they would often see each other. But, they had never really been introduced, and so existed in that strange and awkward realm of kiiind of knowing each other, but not enough to have a conversation.
Instead, they would make awkward eye contact every time they came across each other.
That was until Aascha thought enough was enough, the awkward eye contact had to end, and in a moment of bravery she messaged Nic on Facebook to introduce herself. Ah, such relief.
With the ice officially broken, these two began to talk and get to know each other.
Aascha remembers some of her first impressions of Nic. She was struck by the intense blondness of his hair. It still helps her find him in a crowd to this day.
But she also found Nic to be pretty smart. And his mickey mouse watch showed a sweeter side, too.
Nic, who had thought the awkward, quizzical looks he would get from Aascha meant she didn’t really like him, realised that this sweet, seemingly quiet woman and he had so much in common.
As they sat down for their first official date, a favourite pastime of eating pizza, things would never be the same.

LAUREN + LLOYD
So many couples choose to elope to Tasmania - AND THIS IS WHY!
Lauren and Lloyd chose this perfect mix of utter luxury supplied by the lovely Lisa at @artaudandco and laidback vibes, celebrating their marriage with the gorgeous view at The Point in South Arm.
With just the two of them (and fur baby Apollo appearing in 2D fashion) there were laughs, champagne splatters, talk of Love Languages, shots of fireball supplied by that rogue Omar at @bythewilde (not for me, I was carrying a little secret in my belly then) and the best of vibes.
What a couple of stunners.

JESSICA + RICHARD
It was a few years ago that Jess had just returned from 6 weeks in Europe and Richard had spent the uni holidays beefing up at the gym, when perusing that well known app Tinder, these two discovered each others profile and promptly swiped right.
They clearly liked the look of each other, but it’s important to set the tone early on.
So Richard kicked things off on Tinder Messaging with a favourite joke - What is the best time to go to the Dentist?
To which Jess replied - Tooth Hurty.
Jess knowing the answer to this joke, was a big tick in Richards book.
Jess and Richard continued to chat and get to know each other on Tinder, and then move it over to Facebook, and then when each was sure the other was not someone horrible - like a murderer or one of those people that talk too loud in cinemas - then they decided it was time to move things into the real world with an in person date.
A first date was organised, a chat over a coffee, nice and simple. Unfortunately, when they got close to the proposed time, Richard had to cancel.
So they made another date plan for the same place, to which Richard cancelled again.
At this point, Jess understandably, started to wonder if Richard was really interested, but he panickly promised that he wasn’t trying to give her the runaround, that he was in the midst of the worst cold he’d ever had.
Third times the charm and eventually these two sat down together with that well earned coffee.
Te emphasise the severity of that cold which made him cancel previously, Richard made sure to turn up to that third date attempt with a box of tissues in tow.
Fast forward to their wonderful wedding cake topped with two of the cutest Cocker Spaniel miniatures, modelled on their fur babies! Dogs are ALWAYS a yes.

MELISSA + CHARMAINE
When Mel and Char came down from Townsville with their crew of friends and family, they stood on that elevated space, surrounded by mountains and bush at Sandridge Estate, celebrating their 15th anniversary by becoming Wife and Wife.
15 years of laughter and love, of stories and adventures, of cat ownership.
Of Melissa watching the tv with the volume turned way up like she’s deaf.
And Charmaine cutting the corner off the cheese instead of slicing it normally.
Through all of this time together - from that moment they met each other at the local pub they both worked at -
thinking they’d head into the kitchen and find some parmis and side salads, and instead finding the love of their lives.
When Melissa remembers thinking this Charmaine person seems very funny and kind. And Charmaine thought - wow! She’s adorable and waggish! - they’ve fallen more and more in love with each other.
(And I fell a little in love with them!)
There were so many special moments woven into the day (I think Char’s fist pumps of delight will stick with me always!) but one of the most special was that in forging their own path, Charmaine and Melissa would begin married life with a brand new name - Mrs and Mrs Amara. A name that means ‘Everlasting’ because that’s what they feel about their love for each other.
*Still fist pumping over here!*

LAUREN + NICK
There was one comment that came up about Lauren and Nick again and again between us vendors, and that was how clearly and utterly they adored each other. When they looked into each others eyes, each with a cheeky grin as they shared those top notch bants and a few in-jokes, you could just about feel the world dropping away for them.
Getting to know this super sweet pair over Zoom in preparation for their Bruny Island elopement paled in comparison to cracking on with them in person - SO MUCH FUN.
And I’m always partial to a quick gin shot, as illustrated most gracefully by these two. :D
Lauren and Nick had both said that there was never really a point that they suddenly realised it was the real deal, rather they had simply spent so much time together that being a couple was a foregone conclusion. It never had to be doubted, they just were.
Nick said he had never really fallen for someone until Lauren - that she taught him a whole new range of emotions and he knew she was the one he loved.
And that enjoyment has continued through so many fun moments - from discovering that driving a Kombi is easier said than done.
Or the time Lauren drove 10 hours to see Nick when he was away at work. They squeezed into his single bed in his donga and ate microwave meals.
Or their spontaneous trip to Adelaide - one of Lauren’s favourite memories. They booked only a few days in advance, and visited the zoo, and museums, and library and botanical gardens, and also went clubbing, but that’s when it all gets a bit hazy..
But then they got to hang out at the beach which is basically heaven to these two.
Thanks for letting us into your lovefest, you absolute rockstars!

GRACE + DAN
Dan remembers it had been a long, hot Saturday arvo - The kind that’ll really torment anyone in a dusty share house of 5 people and no aircon. Desperate for a momentary reprieve from that heat, Dan retreated to the air con in his car and set out on a trip to buy a table from gumtree. When he returned home, Dan wrestled the new table out of the car, ready to flop sweat onto the couch, and headed inside. As he made his way down the hallway, the dulcet sounds of party music and wine fuelled conversations drifted back to him, apparently they were having a party.
As Dan whipped open the door and stepped into the living room, he saw Grace.
While everyone else was limply draped around the room and over furniture like clocks in a Salvador Dali painting, Grace was standing on their tennis table cm dining table, dressed in a full length denim dress, eyes closed, chin high and singing at the top of her lungs, The Chicks Wide Open Spaces.
For Dan, standing in this stifling room, Grace in her blue denim dress had the cool clarity of a literal, person sized singing sapphire.
He stood there, amazed, still clutching that old’ Gumtree School desk completely mesmerised.
Now, Grace was totally in the moment, The Chicks really do demand total concentration, and as she sung out the last few words, finally opening her eyes to welcome the inevitable applause that must be due, she saw Dan. He stood there with a sort of smile on his face, and Grace thought to herself - “I’m going to make out with him”.
A few hours later, that prediction, well and truly came to pass.
Grace and Dan were happiness personified and had so many stories and memories that it’s not easy to know where to begin. So why not begin at the beginning.
With massive smiles, laughs that had us doubled over, tears, vows from the guests, and stylish grey room filled with colourful guests and flowers, this was certainly one for the books.

CASSIE + STEVE
The day Cassie and Steve got married at Ratho Farm was one of the COLDEST days last winter. I think my nips and bits are still feeling that ice. So I was pretty happy to see Queenslanders Cassie and Steve embracing the Tassie chill bedecked with good boots and faux furs!
You see, from the moment these two laid eyes on each other at Johnny Ringos Bar in Brisbane, when Cassie remembers seeing Steve and having this gut feeling that he was the one for her - Though of course made sure to do her due diligence and check with her mates that it wasn’t just the Jack Daniels talking - since that first moment they each knew that there was something special brewing.
And while Steve remembers they were pretty nervous wth each other, it didn’t take long until they began to warm up to each other.
So much so, from that night they met, they spent nearly every day that followed together.
That’s pretty amazing. To be standing in a bar with your mates, tapping your toes to the sounds of country music and happy conversations, and then look over to see the love of your life.
So when Steve was set to be deployed for 6 months, Cassie knew without a doubt that she’d be there waiting for him to come home.
Seeing Cassie’s smile when he returned home, is still one of Steve’s favourite memories, something he’ll never forget.
A ceremony that was short and sweet, Cassie and Steve chose to share their Personal Vows privately the next day, venturing towards Cradle Mountain with their photographer/friend Tessa, finding a quiet and picturesque spot, and keeping that moment for themselves.
