Your Visitors Map of Tasmania is produced in conjunction with Tourism Tasmania and is your official touring map for travelling around Tassie. It covers the entire State at 1:500,000, with large scale town and city maps featured on the reverse side.

The map highlights tourist features and services around the state. The route numbering system is clearly shown along with distances between most road junctions.

Unfortunately, weather conditions were not appropriate to proceed with today’s planned burn.
Specific weather and environmental conditions are required to conduct a safe burn with acceptable ecological and hazard reduction outcomes.
We will be monitoring conditions and continuing to look for an appropriate burn window in the near future.

Weather permitting, we will be conducting a fuel reduction burn on Thursday 17 October 2024 in the Cuvier Valley.

Fire is an integral part of sustaining the ecology of and protecting values in the TWWHA.
This burn is funded as part of the state-wide Fuel Reduction Program.

During burning operations public access to these areas will be restricted. Please comply with all signage and directions from staff if you are in the area.

Tasmap have just released a new edition of the popular Mt Field Walk Map & Notes.

The Peninsula Walks map provides multiple map windows to provide maximum coverage while still folding to fit into your shirt pocket. This map will be an essential reference, whether you are going for a leisurely day walk or for a week-long adventure. Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service is undertaking phase two operations of the wild fallow deer control project within the Walls of Jerusalem National Park.

The following areas will be closed to all users from Monday 29 April to Sunday 2 June 2024 for aerial shooting operations:

β€’ Walls of Jerusalem National Park
β€’ Central Plateau Conservation Area, west of Highland Lakes Road and north of Marlborough Road and Lyell Highway
β€’ Tracks that start within the Meander Conservation Area and Great Western Tiers Conservation Area west of Highland Lakes Road

Entry is not permitted. It is not safe to enter these areas.

REMINDER: The Three Capes Track and Fortescue Bay Campground will be closed from 8 April – 21 April 2024 for planned burn operations and annual maintenance.

The closure is part of the state-wide Fuel Reduction Program and aims to ensure public safety by reducing the risk of bushfire while protecting and enhancing the natural and cultural values across the Tasman National Park.

The closure applies to the following areas. These areas will remain closed until an assessment has been made to declare the area safe:

πŸ“ Three Capes Track
πŸ“ Old Cape Pillar Track (inland route to Cape Pillar)
πŸ“ Bare Knoll Campground
πŸ“ Tasman Trail from Canoe Bay to Fortescue Bay
πŸ“ Fortescue Bay campground
πŸ“ Fortescue Bay public boat ramp and jetty

Visitors will be able to access all other tracks within Tasman National Park during this time including Waterfall Bluff Track, Crescent Bay Track, Mount Brown Track, Cape Raoul Track, Shipstern Bluff Track and Tunnel Bay Track.

Tasmap have recently published a new edition of the Mount Anne Walk Map and Notes.

Mount Anne is located in Southwest National Park within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. With an elevation of 1423m, Mount Anne is the highest peak in south west Tasmania and dominates the region around Lake Pedder. Mount Anne is a difficult walk but, for most, the views and experience are worth the effort.
