Western Australians rejoice!

Our good friends and labelfolk Bolt Gun are performing at The Rosemount in Perth on June 6th, 2024, in support of legendary German post-metal luminaries The Ocean Collective as part of their upcoming Australian tour. They will also be joined by Perth post-black/ambient/progressive/do-whatever-they-feel-like-doing mainstays illyria.

ICYMI - New release alert.

Danish blackened hardcore pioneers HEXIS return once more with their new EP, Relictus/Umbrae. Recorded in 2021 in the same sessions as their critically acclaimed 2022 full-length Aeternum, this EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by none other than globally renowned engineer Fredrik Nordström at Fredman Studio.

Relictus/Umbrae is composed of two tracks - the opening number, Relictus, is a chaotic, high-energy sensory assault, displaying the very same blackened hardcore aggression Hexis has become known all over the world for. The second track, Umbrae, sees Hexis showcasing their slower side as they explore the vast depths of blackened doom - a seething, heaving, malignant wall of blackened dissonance and distortion that would make even the most devout doom enthusiast weak at the knees. As always, Hexis have once again delivered on yet another world-class offering of bleak, bludgeoning blackened hardcore.

The first single, Relictus, is premiering now on YouTube alongside a striking visualiser courtesy of Finnish production group Riivata Visuals, and is also available on your streaming platform of choice now.

Relictus/Umbrae will be released on limited edition 8” vinyl by 7DegreesRecords in Europe,Ancient Temple Recordings in Canada, and Starved Light in Australia. The EP will be released digitally on April 22nd, with vinyl copies expected to ship late April/early May. Preorders are open now.

One year ago today, we released 1897 - an absolutely monolithic slab of instrumental atmospheric black metal by enigmatic black metal duo Úkryt. This beautiful, dark, emotive piece, composed of two movements spanning 33 minutes and 33 seconds, saw the band delve further into their broad range of influencing, leaning not only on their masterful understanding of atmospheric black metal, but also incorporating elements of post-rock, doom, Americana and just a sprinkling of Pink Floyd throughout. The resulting piece is a dense, expansive, and powerful work that invites the listener to lose themselves fully to the undulating waves found within.

'Aftryk', the powerful and emotive new album from Danish post-black metal quartet Vægtløs, dropped just over a week ago and the response thus far has been incredible.

To celebrate its release, we asked vocalist Troels H. Sørensen to curate a new update to our 'Glimpse' Spotify playlist. This playlist showcases some of the inspiration behind Aftryk, with tracks new and old from bands like Wiegedood, Propagandhi, Birds in Row, Svalbarduk, Départe and Agriculture that helped shape Vægtløs into the band they are today.

Danish post-black metal luminaries Vægtløs have recently released 'Her i vores hjerter bærer vi en ny verden', the second single from their absolutely stunning debut full length 'Aftryk'.

'Her i vores hjerter bærer vi en ny verden', which translates to 'Here in our hearts we carry a new world', is a deeply personal song about forgiveness, extending a helping hand, and moving on. It features vocal performances by Christian Jamet Bonnesen and Victor Kaas, both of whom are legends in the Danish underground music scene, known from bands such as LLNN, The Psyke Project, EYES, New Money, P**s Vortex (which is an especially good band name), Telos, and more.

Aftryk releases on February 2nd, which is only a few weeks away. Preorders are open now, and are expected to ship early to mid February. Aftryk will be available from Starved Light on limited edition 12" vinyl in one variant : WEIGHTLESS (Green Opaque Marble - limited to 50 copies). Despite being strictly limited to 50 copies of this gorgeous variant, there are still a few units left unallocated, so don't miss out.
