We are excited to announce the fourth round of Resilient Planning to Granting funding is now open for applications. This round will focus on projects in Western Bundjalung Country, specifically within the Clarence Valley LGA boundary, with priority given to communities outside the regional centre of Grafton.

Funding priorities were discussed and developed through conversations with local communities and the codesign group drawn from residents of local communities including Baryulgil, Malabugilmah, Copmanhurst, Ewingar and beyond.

A total of $300,000 is available for projects that build resilience in communities and meet the funding criteria. Projects are required to align with the Fire to Flourish principles and the community vision. The vision developed by this co-design team for this round is:

TOGETHER we can work in
HARMONY to create
RESILIENT
INNOVATIVE communities,
VALUING each other’s knowledge and experience,
EMPOWERING generations to follow.

👉 Join us and hear how to GET READY so we can all be safe. Coutts Crossing Rural Fire Service Brigades “GET READY” INFORMATION DAY Saturday 21st September.

This is a family fun day with activities for the kids. Come check out the Fire Trucks and SES High Clearance Vehicle (Unimog) and latest water vessel. The big kids will love it almost as much as the little people!

✔Learn more about the bush fire risk in this area
✔How to obtain a permit to light fires for 24/25 fire season
✔What is required when burning in a non-permit required period\
✔Get general tips in fire prevention
✔Get assistance setting up Emergency apps such as Hazards near Me, Emergency Plus, BOM Etc.
✔ Opportunity to ask about important storm & local flood information.

While you are there, have a talk with a volunteer about what life is like, as a volunteer firefighter or SES member, you never know maybe it's the new challenge you have been looking for. You would be surprised by how good it feels to be a part of one of these amazing volunteer organisations.

ADVICE: Florda Prince Dr, Wells Crossing (Clarence Valley LGA)
A fire is burning in the vicinity of Florda Price Dr, Wells Crossing, approximately 20km south of Grafton. People in the vicinity of Florda Price Dr and Parker Rd should continue to monitor conditions.

The smoke from this fire may also be affecting the Pacific Highway, with motorists advised to exercise caution and drive to the conditions. While the highway is currently open, it may be closed at short notice.
