There are some elements to great book cover design.
▪︎ Some are more obvious than others, for example, using low-quality images or copywrited/protected images, which will ensure poor design and perhaps even liability down the road.
▪︎ It's easy to fall in love with a found image, but ensure it clearly communicates the genre of your book.
▪︎ Make sure colour also relates to the image chosen while relaying back to the overarching theme of your novel.
▪︎ Ensure fonts are clear and not overdone (as in multiple varieties), often simplicity is best here. Also, make sure the title is clear, easy to read, and the largest format of text on a cover page.
