📣 It's an exciting time for the film industry on the Gold Coast and we are pleased to share the announcement major productions 'The Bluff' and 'Balls Up' will be based out of

🎥 Balls Up is an Amazon MGM Studios and Skydance film from director Peter Farrelly (Green Book, There's Something About Mary) and starring Mark Wahlberg (The Family Plan) and Paul Walter Hauser (The Instigators), with writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (Deadpool & Wolverine).

🎥 The Bluff is from Amazon MGM Studios and Academy Award-winning independent studio AGBO (Everything Everywhere All At Once), with the film set in the 19th century Caribbean, and starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Karl Urban, with Ismael Cruz Cordova, Safia Oakley-Green and Vedanten Naidoo, and follows a former female pirate who must protect her family when the mysterious sins of her past catch up to her.

🎬 Both productions were secured through the Queensland Government’s Production Attraction Strategy by Queensland we can't wait to welcome them to our world-class facilities here at Village Roadshow Studios.

🎬 Get ready for the highly anticipated eight-part series, Good Cop/Bad Cop, penned by renowned writer John Quaintance of Will & Grace and Workaholics fame. This procedural comedic drama, set to be produced by Jungle Entertainment and Future Shack Entertainment, is gearing up for production across South East Queensland later this month.

📣 Excitement is in the air as welcomes to the lot Hollywood director Ron Howard and the talented cast and crew of Eden Productions.

🏆 The Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard returns to the Gold Coast with Imagine Entertainment and AGC Studios feature, with filming commencing on November 27.

🎬 The production promises not only to be a cinematic masterpiece but also a boost to the Queensland economy, generating an estimated $26.5 million and creating over 300 local jobs. Lights, camera, action! 🎬

🎥 For over 30 years, Lynne has been a passionate advocate for the film industry on the Gold Coast and it is wonderful to see her recognised in this manner for her incredible contribution and ongoing efforts to raise awareness for the arts and wave the flag for such an integral industry.

🎬 Lynne is a pivotal figure in attracting major productions to the Gold Coast, that generate jobs and provide economic benefit for the local economy. As usual Lynne’s priority remains on ensuring crew have work and the Gold Coast remains Australia’s premiere film destination and mentions while this is great personal recognition it is not only about her, but for the entire Film and Arts Industry.

Behind the scenes of Rock Island Mysteries, filmed here at the 🏝️

🎥 With the second season wrapping up early this year, we were excited to see the continuation of around 150 Queensland cast and crew employed and saw the production generate approximately $11.2 million direct spend in the state — delivering a total of over $20 million investment across the life of the franchise so far!
