The Painted Desert is an ancient inland sea bed. The landscape has been created by erosion over 80million years.
From the spectacular desert views to the amazing colours in the hills.
This has to be one of the most amazing drives. The detour was very well worth it. We all absolutely love this place.

We did some exploring while passing through Tennant Creek at The Old Telegraph Station Historical Site approx 16kms North of Tennant Creek.
We then headed through to see Karlu Karlu/Devils Marbles conservation reserve approx 105kms south of Tennant Creek.

Just off the Stuart Highway we came across this Ghost Town with preserved historic Buildings including Jones Store and Junction Hotel. It Was really interesting and creepy walking around seeing the abandoned town.
