Posted • I’ve experienced abusive experiences over and over and over again in relationships and yet, to me it didn’t feel like a big deal at the time. It felt normal. It’s the way I was used to being treated.

Parenting sets the foundation for our children’s comfort zone. If we grow up with abusive behaviours which become our normal during childhood, it will continue to be this way in all relationships we encounter. We will continue to feel “it’s not big deal!” when In fact we are worthy of being treated with respect and love.

May our kids see these red flags because we haven’t normalized them in our home. May our kids stand up for themselves, speak up & seek out healthy relationships with mutual respect because this is their normal…
