Hope you enjoyed yesterday's programme. Early bird tickets for the Australian Celtic Festival https://www.australiancelticfestival.com/ went on sale recently (and have now sold out!), so we looked ahead to this and other festivals of interest in the coming months, including Cobargo Folk Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, St Albans Folk Festival, and National Celtic Festival Australia Official. As well as our usual Runrig, we played songs and tunes from The Scotsman Music, Kejafi, Limerick MCB and Murphy's Pigs, all of whom will be playing the Australian Celtic Festival (formal performer announcements haven't come out yet), also Skerryvore, Triantán, Eric Bogle, and Hat Fitz & Cara, who will be playing various of those festivals, and then Face The West, Rachel Walker, Èirinn, Doug Lamey, Brendan Monaghan - singer/songwriter, Bruce Guthro, Skipinnish, Dàimh, Durango Blue, and Kim Carnie to round out the programme.

Hope you enjoyed this morning's programme. In honour of the 40th anniversary of the release of Runrig's important album "Heartland" on 6 January 1985, we featured music from the album. We also played versions by Ishbel MacAskill, Dick Gaughan, Triantán and Tannas of songs on that album. We added lots of songs with 'heart' in their titles, from Mary Coughlan, Josef Locke, Wendy Jack Music, Coisir Gàidhlig Astràilianach, Tom Jones, Foster And Allen, Bonnie Tyler, Bee Gees, Capercaillie, Daniel O'Donnell, Gone Molly, Mac-Talla, Eurythmics, Johnny O'Keefe, Feargal Sharkey, Sean MacDonnchadha, Mark Cryle, Jerry Vale, Mary Black & Eleanor McEvoy Music, Mick Hanly Page, Humbug, and Claymore.
If you're interested in the album, I strongly recommend the Siubhal gu Seachd le Pluto program of 6 January 2025 (partly in Gaelic, partly in English), which you can hear on BBC Sounds at https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0026lq1 for the next few weeks.
