For more than 500 years, the German Purity Law, or Reinheitsgebot, has been a symbol of tradition, quality and authenticity in brewing. First enacted in 1516 as a way of ensuring that what goes into beer is natural, many German breweries still adhere to the law today, and for beer enthusiasts, it's a mark of purity and craftmanship.
