Today we had the great pleasure of chatting to Ruby and Percy Pyne who Keith and I met in Apollo Bay in the 1970s. Percy celebrates his 94th Birthday this weekend and he and Ruby had some great stories to share. Due to a technical hiccup we miss the pre-Apollo Bay background so this recording starts with Percy working on the heavy machinery on the roads around the Bay. If you want to catch the full interview go to 947thepulse.com and Browse to Local Legends Radio Show and today's date.
This chat provided a load of laughs and we learned a lot.

Her campaign resulted in the Medically supervised injecting space in Richmond. She wrote a book about the campaign called You Talk We Die.
She received a Churchill Fellowship to visit drug affected cities around the world and has just published her report in the form of a video here. It is a very accessible summary of her investigation. Just click this link to view the report.

This week Keith and I had a great chat with Barry Klemm who we both knew when he was the policeman in charge of the Apollo Bay district in the 1970s. Barry was very highly regarded in Apollo Bay not just for his policing but also for his community involvement.
Barry is now living in Maryborough and had some great yarns to tell about his very full life.
Barry turned 91 on Saturday.
