A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has donated towards my Peter Mac Unite to Fight Cancer fundraising challenge page so far. I'm almost at $1000!

There's still plenty of time to donate if you haven't already. The ride starts NEXT WEEK on Thursday 17 October and finishes on Saturday 26 October. I've aimed for 260 or so km but I hope I can ride much more.

Your support helps fund Peter Mac's life-saving cancer research.

Tap here to donate now 👉

UNITE with thousands of walkers and riders over 10 days this October. Take up the challenge. Walk or cycle, your way.

Watching Gruen last night, first I saw that Hubbl is owned by Murdoch and News Corp, so that should be enough to put you off it straight away. But then I saw they have released Hubbl Glass, as 55" and 65" TVs.

Checking the specs, the refresh rate on the Glass is only 60hz which is absolute rubbish for TVs that cost around $1600 and $2000. AND it has NO motion smoothing which is an absolute indictment.

Without getting too technical, 60hz is the refresh rate for NTSC 29.97/30 frames per second TVs (that mainly exists in the USA) and their 120v 60hz electrical system. Any TV sold here should match our PAL TV 25 frame per second rate and 240v 50hz electrical system. Decent TVs have refresh rates of 100 or 200hz. The cheap TVs sold in ALDI or other similar places generally have 60hz refresh rates.

If you are watching sport or fast action on a 60hz TV, you will get jittery image artefacts on the screen which should be smooth and artefact-free as you will see on 100 or 200hz screens, or even TVs with 50hz for that matter.

What an absolute scam and a disgrace this is.
