Enjoyed the screening of ‘s doco You Should’ve Been Here Yesterday, it’s a distillation of 200hrs of archival 16mm surf footage mostly from the 1960’s and 1970’s dug out from the attics of surf film makers & painstakingly transferred frame by frame to a digital form. It also includes recent interviews with surf luminaries such as Alby Falzon (maker of seminal surf movie Morning of the Earth), , , & author . Was stoked to have contributed a few shots and to see them on a big screen with a packed house!

For those in striking distance of Byron, the grand opening of the new store in Byron is this Saturday 9th December at 3/16 Tasman Way. There’ll be product giveaways, beer 🍻, thins to bite on & live music between 6-9pm. There’ll also be the premiere screening of a short doco I made in Sth Africa called Sticks and Stones in the sustainably-made wooden Varuna surfboards are but to the test by talented surfers & under the watchful eye of legendary shaper Fun was & will be had!

Saw the amazing Tracey Miller play a fantastic gig at Shotkickers a couple of weeks ago for the launch of her single Broken Line. Her band are incredibly slick and her daughters Loretta and Winona, who I haven't seen since they were little kids, are amazing on backup vocals. Great to see and hear WA guitar legend Sam Lemann as well. They're at Shotkickers for the next 2 Wednesday nights, be there or be somewhere else!

One of a series of 30 videos I shot for Tourism Australia last year, this one at the beautiful Mt Towrong vineyard, an amazing place to enjoy lovingly-made traditional Italian food and excellent wines in stunning surrounds! Victorian U18 champ Will Watson drawing clean lines at Noosa a couple of weeks ago.

I hunted around for this video a few weeks ago on the passing of Chris Davidson who I hope is in peace now. He was one of the surfers on the trip for Rip Curl with a group of their surfers including local Manoa Drollet, the elder brother of Marsha Drollet, Pancho Sullivan, Zane Harrison, Tamayo Perry, Nathan Hedge & Dane Beevor. The latter part we sailed around French Polynesia on a luxury catamaran with a French chef who when we pulled up a swordfish made swordfish sashimi with incredible French sauces. Those were the days!
