Sunset has arrived by the water at Lions Park in Woy Woy 🧚♀️
On the back of our last sponsorship project Sunset Sessions by Ethereal Misfits being awarded council funding as part of The Lakes Festival, we are now working on the development of an exciting community podcast which launches in the first week of January 2024 ⚡️
In the weeks leading up to our launch we thought it would be both fun and useful to share what we have learned about podcasting so you can follow along with our progress. This week we discuss choosing a podcast microphone 🎙
The three main factors that influenced our choice were quality, versatility, and price. Here are the five podcast microphones we reviewed:
🎤 Shure MV7 $489
🎤 Blue Yeti $198
🎤 Blue Yeti Pro $441
🎤 Samson Q9U $279
🎤 Rode NT USB $179
Overall, the standout winner for us was the Shure MV7 for the following reasons:
* It has unique Voice Isolation Technology and an Auto Level Mode that let you make great recordings even in the most acoustically challenging rooms.
* You have the option of using either a USB connection to a computer or an XLR connection to an audio interface.
* It comes with an integrated no-fuss anti-pop filter.
* It has a great following and and plenty of support within the podcast community.
The price tag was a hefty $489 but you can always get a better deal by shopping around. We purchased several microphones from DJ City in Atarmon, one for each member of our podcast panel. Thank you to everyone who has chosen to come onboard to contribute their time and energy to the success of our next community project!
