A huge 30ct Green Sapphire up next to cut, came out of a friends mine in sapphire, I’ve grinded down the crown side of the stone to get a better look at what’s going On inside, and it has some problems but should be able to work around them, im thinking I’ll go trillion cut on this one!

Freeform on this little yellow Aussie sapphire next up - Freeform’s are sometime the way to go to maximise the stones size as cutting anything else from the rough would result in such a small stone..

12.8ct rough down to 4.1ct finished - very happy with the results! It’s a bit darker than I thought it would be. but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles!

Time to get to cutting again! 12.8ct Rough Australian sapphire that came out scrub lead - central Queensland Gemfields.

It’s a very clean stone although Looks to be a bit dark, but you can never really know until you take it off the dop from the final polish.. let’s wait and see 🤩 I’ll be doing a emerald cut from this one!

What started of as a 12.9ct Rough Australian Sapphire - is now a very beautiful split colour Parti Sapphire weighing in at 4.33ct - Blue/Teal sapphires are becoming increasingly rare due to there high demand and rarity.
as most blues found out in Nature are not of gemstone Quality! But this one certainly is - what a beauty 🤩

Back in sunny Australia!! I have been a little absent on here recently as I have been on holiday over in New Zealand visiting family - although I still managed to get out and find some gemstones, on the west coast of the south island the beaches and rivers produce some of the best quality jade (Greenstone/Pounamu) available

I’ll be cutting these into pendants very soon and attempting to fuse them with gold!

Gold 24k current price whilst writing this is $85.29 USD per gram. that’s an increase of over 4000% since 1924

Gold was formed in space through nuclear fusion in the core of stars and was brought to Earth through meteorite impacts during its early formation.

Approximately 200,000 metric tons of gold have been mined throughout history. Estimates suggest there are about 50,000 metric tons of gold remaining that can be economically mined, To add to that there is about 20 billion trillion tons of gold in the universe, primarily in the form of dust scattered throughout space.

The melting point of gold is 1,064 degrees Celsius (1,947 degrees Fahrenheit). At this temperature, solid gold will turn into a liquid state.

Gold is rare, and virtually indestructible; it doesn’t corrode or tarnish, meaning that all the gold ever mined still exists in some form today. This property contributes to its enduring value and allure throughout history.

It’s all gone Pear Shaped!! Remember that rough sapphire from a few days ago? Well it’s finally done, but I’ll be honest I was hoping for a much lighter coloured stone. Anyway it’s still beautiful just a a little dark is all - managed to get a great yield from this stone - the rough was 14ct and ended up being bang on 5ct finished! Hope you like it..

Another Sapphire Recently completed! - this stone from Central Queensland Gemfields turned out to be a real beauty - although i didn't think to much of the rough stone when i got it as it looked pretty average in colour and pretty silky. goes to show you never truly know what a stone will end up like until that final polish, very pleased with how this turned out!

Preforming & a cut crown! Half way there with this Tri colour Sapphire, I have decided to cut a pear shape from this one, hopefully it doesn’t cut to dark, luckily the lighter shades of yellow are toward the pointy end of the stone so that should help!
