Walking Moustache Pictures came into being in 2012 after co-founders Aidan McDonald and David McKinnar graduated from their Film and Television course at university. The Melbourne-based video production company specialises in creating artistic music videos, short films, and promotional material for a range of diverse clients. The pair met in high school and immediately bonded of their mutual passi
on for film and productive, and its this innate connection that drives Walking Moustache. Aidan and David decided to form the company to brand into bigger productions, and 2014 they were joined by Mathew Ellery, who was worked with the likes of Mark Lanegan, The Dirty Three and Spencer P. Walking Moustache Pictures has produced music videos for a wide range of some of Melbourne’s best bands, including The Messengers, Darts, I’lls, Klo, Honey Badgers and Pets with Pets, as well as promotional films for Oxfam Australia, Hendricks Gin, and comedy sketches for the ABC and Screen Australia. Aidan McDonald is a professional editor with a background in music, allowing him to have a personal connection with the work that he is creating, and a strong relationship with the artists he works with. David McKinnar is a professional cinematographer with a background in the visual arts and production design, while also experimenting with screenwriting and directing. Since 2011 he’s been shadowing production designer Tim Burgin, who has worked on a range of Australian short films and documentaries. The team at Walking Moustache Pictures works closely and openly with their clients in order to create unique, creative and interesting content that is enjoyed by the client and the audiences.
