Don’t forget, Tuesday night is date night with the lads from Up the Junction from 7PM (AWST) on VCA 88.5.

Featuring all the very best of Britpop, New Wave, Punk, Acid Jazz, Brit-disco and NWOBHM, you’ll be silly to miss it (Live and direct on 88.5 and streaming services, or later on-demand).

From 7-8 we’ll feature new-ish music from the likes of Art-rock torch-bearers No-Man, plus the latest from lonesome Irish country-pop star Catherine McGrath. Deep cuts from the footwear-obsessed Ride and the eclectic Sault, as well as a band who’s set to tour this November, albeit three members down (hint, pictured).

In the NWOBHM second half we feature the trialled and tested Witchfinder General, relationship advice from the ever-reliable UFO as well as West-Germanic wannabees, Saxon.

If you have checked out the VCA88.5FM website, you would know that Graham is English, born with a love of sport and music. He enjoys good food and wine and dislikes arrogant, rude people. (We hear ya!)

WHO DOES THE COMMUNITY PANTRY HELP?

Well, you, if you need it.

The community pantry helps anyone doing it tough. You don’t need any concessions cards or the like.

Currently the pantry’s customer base comprises of many of our older residents. Being on fixed incomes they are unable to keep up with the increasing cost of living and therefore have to rely on the pantry or similar services to help put food on their table.

We have a few young families, struggling to survive on minimum wage.

There are people with disabilities and others with terminal illness.

The pantry even has newborn customers in need of essentials.

People come from various cultures and experiences, but all have a story that has led them to needing a little bit of help.

There is no one type of person, tough times can and will knock on anyone’s door and you rarely know when that knock will come.

So if you’re a regular pantry donor or you’re thinking of becoming a donor but wondered if your kindness got to where you intended - rest assured that your donations go out to locals in genuine need and is the lifeline that helps sustain others through difficult times.

Donation boxes are located near Cole’s & Woolies at Ellenbrook Central.

So next time you’re shopping, if you’re able, please grab a can of soup, a packet of spaghetti or whatever and pop it in the community pantry donation box.

Kobe initially started at VCA88.5FM through his high school radio program at Holy Cross College. He was part of the first 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒕𝒐 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 team.

When he graduated high school, he started his presenter training and when he was ready, began hosting his own show, 🆃🅷🅴 88.5🅵🅼 🅹🆄🅺🅴🅱🅾🆇.
