I was delighted to be featured recently in an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, discussing my career as a voice-over artist and reflecting on the evolving role of AI in our industry. As AI continues to make strides, I've experimented with several leading AI voice-sampling and replication platforms. While these technologies show impressive capabilities, their appropriate applications remain a question. They serve well for producing voice-overs in home videos, family projects, or travel logs. However, in my experience, AI-generated voice-overs still fall short of delivering the vibrancy, energy, authenticity, and emotional depth that a professional voice-over artist brings to a project. This observation fuels my ongoing curiosity about how AI will shape the future of voice-over work and whether it can truly match the nuanced artistry of human performance.
