We renovated a 1960s ranch 2 years ago. We had the whole interior painted. The walls we didn’t demo in the home are original plaster (and were in seemingly good shape). We had it painted with high end latex paint with appropriate prep by a reputable painter. We are having a crazy bubbling issue of the paint on these plaster walls. We have already redone them, sanded, skimmed and repainted. 😅

PLEASE, someone give me insight on what is causing this, it’s driving me INSANE !!!!

Calling all Butcher block countertop owners! I am trying to decide if I want new backsplash or to keep this one. I wanted a neutral warm kitchen but thinking maybe the backsplash might be adding too much brown. The wall to the right is navy blue, so there is some color in the kitchen.

Retro or rip out?
We recently bought an old house and are about to start renovating and improving it. The bathroom has retro looking Tiffany blue color sink, tub, and toilet. At first I thought we should just rip them out, but now they’re actually growing on me. Thoughts? Keep em or get rid of them? If we keep them how can improve it?

My husband found this today at an estate sale while he was riding his bike, $20! He knows I’ve been looking for a bar cart to makeover. The drawer has the 1144 stamped on it, the bottom has 866 written on it with a grease pencil. I’ve seen a few things online mentioning a name of Chas Roth with this company, but his name is not on this piece. 🤷‍♀️ I’m thinking 1950’s-60’s, but can’t find anything definitive. I’m just happy to have it and can’t wait to give it a makeover.

I’m disabled on a fixed income, so please don’t be too hard on me. I replaced these covered litter boxes with stainless steel ones and transformed into a feral cat duplex. LoL I am aware that there’s only one pictured. I did make two of them with foam insulation, cedar wood chips and a little catnip spray just to attract on the inside. I faced them towards each other with the boot tray over them both. Them I covered them with a tarp leaving it partially opened on the backside. It looks tacky, but it serves its purpose. With the tarp over it the little houses can’t even be seen anyway. A snowstorm was expected the very next day after I finished my project. A stray found shelter in one side the same night. I’m so glad I did this because they wouldn’t have had anywhere to go to stay warm and dry.
