Australian Opera Aria Award

We recently held a house concert in support of the Australian Opera Aria Award!

Local artists Michelle der Kinderen and Camble Scott performed a short recital program of Puccini, Gershwin, Chopin and Mozart for the 30 generous donors in attendance.

Our thanks to the Coffs Harbour Music Society for allowing the use their wonderful piano at this event.

The Australian Opera Aria Award is a new prize for emerging Australian opera singers. It provides monetary and in-kind prizes to artists seeking to further develop their craft.

The adjudicator of the inaugural Award is Graham Pushee.

Having enjoyed an illustrious career in opera, Graham is now the Managing Director of Arts Management, with clients such as Stuart Skelton, Simone Young and Natalie Aroyan - Soprano. He has taught and coached at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, The University of Sydney, given masterclasses and workshops for Opera Queensland, the Melba Opera Trust and Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), and adjudicated and presented numerous vocal competitions in Australia and New Zealand.

The Australian Opera Aria Award is a new prize for emerging Australian opera singers to be held in Coffs Harbour in November 2024.
