THE Scenic Rim Mayor and Division Three Councillor have called for immediate action on Canungra’s lack of infractructure, with the Mayor inviting State Member, Jon Krause MP and Premier David Crisafulli to visit the region.

At the Council meeting on October 30, Mayor Tom Sharp moved that the State Member and Premier be invited to “assess for themselves 30 years of neglect of this region’s assets being, and not limited to, water, energy and main roads, and the disadvantage this neglect has wrought upon its constituency, such as the trucking of water into Canungra or out of Tamborine Mountain”.

IT IS the race that stops the nation, and at O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard it certainly felt like everything outside had stopped.

The first Canungra Chamber of Commerce Cup Day event had every aspect of Cup Day celebrations with the race on the big screen, plenty of bubbles from the vineyard and a delicious two course meal.
