2XX is a not-for-profit radio station that gives a voice to the Canberra community. Founded in 1976 on the ANU campus and now broadcast from our premises in Civic, 2XX produces between 8 and 12 hours of local programming every day. That is content originating at our station, produced and presented by members of our local community. You can expect to hear everything from programs covering genre-spe

cific music, talk-based programs covering politics, environmental issues, q***r issues, science, conflict resolution, mental health and film, along with multicultural shows presented in a range of community languages.

2XX serves a diverse range of interest groups in the ACT by providing a range of vital information and entertainment services which are not available from public or commercial broadcasters. Fenja a former archaeologist is an inspirational artist who creates hand-printed artworks that are inspired by the beautiful nature that surrounds her, and from a background of working as an archaeologist and palaeo-ecologist across various Australian regions.

She has created unique prints on paper and on porcelain, using (and experimenting with) a variety of printmaking techniques. All her works are hand-made and are typically created by layering different print elements.

Radio Ghana in Canberra. A multicultural program which seeks to educate the Canberra community on Ghanaian life and culture. The program also contributes to multiculturalism in Canberra through the provision of educative topics; and community announcements and events.
Music played during the program is mostly Ghanaian although other African and western music is played from time to time, depending on the theme of the day.

Little Oak Sanctuary began in 2013, they have been actively working to educate the public about issues faced by animals in Australia. They hold regular open days, where the public can meet the residents, hear their stories, learn about the welfare issues that animals face and how they can help by living compassionately.

In 2013 they were fortunate enough to be selected as the People's Choice award winners of the Voiceless Institute for their Moving Connections bus campaign. The campaign saw a full-wrap bus advertisement travelling the streets of Canberra for 12 months, drawing thousands of people to their website.

With World Radio Day right around the corner we wanted to share a selection of programs on community radio that address this year's theme of climate change directly as well as environmental issues more broadly. Earth Matters on 3CR Community Radio - This program, which also airs on the Community Radio Network, dives into local and global environmental issues from grassroots, activist perspectives with a social justice focus.

Saltgrass on MainFM - Saltgrass won Best Program - Talks at the 2023 Community Broadcasting Awards and explores community responses to the climate crisis. It's not on air at the moment but Season 6 is on the way!

Climate Community on 2XXfm - This show takes a hyperlocal approach to climate change, featuring interviews with climate activists, news from around Canberra and beyond and provides the local climate community with information about upcoming events.

Water Watch on 2DRY FM - This program explores life, culture and the big issues on Australia's waterways and has been acknowledged with two Walkley award nominations.

The Sustainable Hour on 94.7 The Pulse - Geelong's information hub, podcast and radio show about climate, sustainability and solutions.

Eco Radio on 4ZZZ - Eco Radio explores some of the strategies at the forefront of the move toward sustainability and keeps listeners updated on what's going on in their community and how they can be involved.

Considering Earth on Denmark FM - This show introduces listeners to interesting facts and fascinating stories about the natural environment in Denmark, and Western Australia.

The Green Room on Radio Adelaide - The Green Room is a program all about nature, biodiversity conservation and environmental science. Tune in to learn more about native South Australian flora and fauna, new research in the biological sciences, and how to get the most out of the great outdoors.

Eco Futures on Bay FM 99.9 - Byron Bay Australia - Eco Futures features interviews with scientists, environmental and legal experts, academics, writers, local activists and community members who are committed to climate action and protecting their precious environment.

For the first time since they broke up in 1992, Sydney's indie darlings the Crystal set return to the stage to play all their loved songs from the era of big hair and atmospheric guitars. Featuring original songwriting duo of Russell Kilbey(brother of The Church Singer Steve) and Phil Maher along with Robbie Warren from Died Pretty, Craig Hooper of the Reels and well known Brisbane drummer Rudi Weber.

Peter is the senior artist of Duruga Aboriginal Art which was founded as a way to share the world's oldest culture through Art. It also promotes the art from some of Australia's Koori artists (east coast of Australia).

Mabarraa Peter Kafer is a proud D'harawahl man, born in Newcastle ( NSW) and a proud Saltwater man. He lives in Port Stephens NSW.

He gets his inspiration for his artwork from stories related to him throughout his life by many of his Uncles'.

Artefacts & paintings of his have been sold in USA & Europe as well as Australia.

I meet Peter a local Canberra market on a Sunday morning and was impressed with his artwork, passion and inspiring stories inspiring his artwork and our first nations culture.
