🚚🚛 Awesome news for FNQ! The road’s open from Ingham so the cavalcade of trucks are finally able to come through! 👏🏼

🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚧

Key freight vehicles are now travelling north through the area at Gairloch and Seymour River.

Motorists are advised to expect an increased number of heavy vehicles on the road into Cairns and surrounding areas, and to drive with caution in the coming hours.

She Shed Cairns – Open for Clothing Donations only!

We’re open today from 9 AM – 12 PM at 193 Martyn Street, Cairns to collect donations of good quality second-hand clothing for our upcoming fundraiser.

If you can’t make it during these hours, donations can also be dropped off at Halpin Partners Accountants (101 Sheridan Streett, Cairns Opposite CPAC) between 8:30 AM – 5 PM.

What's involved? Selling Donut Bite cups in our business Bite runs. When? Wednesday & Thursday mornings (weather permitting). How long does it take? 2-3 hours each day from 8:30am. Do I need my car? Yes - about 10km per day - reimbursed. Do I need my mobile data? Yes to power Square reader payments - allowance paid. Is it difficult? No - you just need a bright personality and courteous attitude.

Training and run introductions provided.

Shout out to Cheryl Hudson, one of FNQ’s incredible wildlife carers who was able to help us out with info on what to do with this precious young pigeon we found injured this evening..
we have taken it to Emergency Vets on Anderson St for assessment and dearly hope it can be saved.
There was no cost to us for our effort to help & we can now rest easy knowing the bird isn’t going to die a long, drawn out death on its own. Sharing this info to ensure it is passed on.. because wildlife matters.
