BUSINESS EVENTS || Business event leads from across Australia have been secured for Tropical North Queensland following the annual Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef Showcase. The team was accompanied by 18 local business events suppliers to host lunch in Brisbane, breakfast in Sydney and cocktails in Melbourne meeting with 100 association and corporate buyers, professional conference organisers and destination management companies. They took 45kg of local produce to set up a display in each city showcasing the diversity of Tropical North Queensland food and beverages which can be used as delegate gifts.

REGIONAL SHOWCASE || The Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef team and 18 TTNQ members are meeting with more than 100 event organisers in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne this week for the annual Regional Showcase. The latest products, events spaces and the industry’s sustainability credentials are being discussed at the series of events.

TOURISM WEEK IN CAIRNS || Cairns will be the centre of the state's tourism industry this November as hundreds of tourism and events businesses head north to participate in Queensland's annual Tourism Week. With a focus on the latest trends and developments in Queensland's tourism industry, a range of events will be staged to help businesses plan for growth in the future. What a team and what an amazing event that showcases Australia’s best Indigenous Australian art! (Well we think so!) Thank you so much for the shout out. Our team were so proud to be part of CIAF 2022. We wish this incredible group of people (both curators, event managers, volunteers and all the support crew) and all of the amazing artists all the best for year ahead here’s to another fantastic Cairns Indigenous Art Fair in 2023!!

We know you all loved at our new home, the Cairns Convention Centre! The remarkable use of the spaces provided (and how great the booths and stalls looked) were the product of a lot of hard work. THANK YOU: two years ago - almost to the day - we asked the Pacific Hotel to step in as Far North Queensland's first ever quarantine hotel.

During this time, more than 6000 guests stayed at the Pacific, each doing up to two week stays in their rooms, in order to isolate themselves away from our community in case they were infected with COVID-19.

Friday, we gave thanks to the Pacific and all its staff for the incredible job they've done, through thick and thin.

Not one single case of COVID-19 was spread in our communities as a result of guests quarantining at the facility. This is a testament to the world class standards everyone who worked at the Pacific upheld during this two-year period.

The hotel will next week be open to regular guests. We wish them all the best for the future.

Applications are now open for the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair (CIAF) 2022 Art Market. If you're a Queensland First Nations artist/craftsperson, and are interested in the opportunity to be featured in this year's Art Market, we want to hear from you!

CIAF Art Market will run daily from Thursday 7 July - Sunday 10 July, 2022 at CIAF's new home, the Cairns Convention Centre.

It's the last day you can access a COVID-19 Vaccine at the Cairns Convention Centre and our clinic will close at 7pm tonight.

Our main COVID-19 Vaccination Hub will be moving to the Pier Shopping Centre, and open from 10am tomorrow!

You can access a 1st, 2nd and Booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at our new clinic. We have a child friendly clinic area especially for little people aged 5-11 years old - they'll receive a free icy-pole after their vaccination and FREE FACE PAINTING THIS WEEKEND!

Our Pier clinic is open from 10:00am to 6:00pm, 7 days a week.
Walk-ins are welcome.
