Since 1978 4ZZZ has continually presented programs in support of the broader q***r identifying community. On 30th September 1992 the weekly le***an and gay program "Gay Waves" changed in both format and name. It became a cycle every three weeks (Wednesdays 6-9pm) of "Q***r Radio" for men, "Q***r Radio" for LGBT's and "The Le***an Show" by and for women. The Q***r Radio shows were to be magazine style, dealing with specific topics and invited guests. The Le***an Show changed its name to D***s On Mykes in the mid-90's. 4ZZZ allocated each show a weekly 2 hour slot in August 2002.
