The Pretzel Poem Project is progressing. We needed a song relating to the project/performance name. So I investigated about the pretzel's origin, then Meryn wrote a poem to a music idea I had. Now we have formed it to a song called The Baker's Son, about how the pretzel came to be. Which made Meryn returning to Pete's studio.

The recording of our first album is making good progress. Besides Meryn and I doing vocal and guitar tracks we have had a young and very talented trumpet player and a flute player in the studio. This project is so much fun.

After having had our first test gig the project is getting into full drive. Our first audience was very attentive, kids between 4-7 years listened and focused on us for 35 min., parents sang along and faces told us that yes that's how it has been at their home too.

I - the pretzel - tested some songs with a 11 year old girl in the neighborhood. She laughed and encouraged to go ahead with the project. Cool. Thanks guys.

As our lyrics/songs include a bit of humor they suit both audiences: Kids and their parents. It seems we might have found our nice.

Soon we will inform more about the songs and the stories they tell.

The Pretzel Poem Project is a new joint venture of a musician and a book author. Meryn, an author of children's books, met Frank, a musician and songwriter, on a Xmas market when selling her very cute books.

Why this name? Because Frank is originally from Germany and loves Pretzels (Pretzels originate from the South Germany-Swiss-Austrian area), and Meryn writes poems for kids.

Now some of her poems turned into songs and a book with lyrics, illustrations and music is in the making.
