Tall people problems! Ignore the dramatic pose, I'm simply trying to maintain eye level (and still failing slightly!) whilst doing a standing interview. Side note, I do love me a good natural light setup.

Has been a busy start to the year and we've definitely been getting around the countryside! Eumundi last week, a quick drive up to Rockhampton for this shoot at CQUniversity yesterday, Sydney this coming Monday, Gympie on Tuesday and Gold Coast on Wednesday!

Storage! The least sexy but most important thing in regards to video production. No point having the latest and greatest camera if you lose the data due to improper storage.

My NAS (network attached storage) this morning reported some errors on one of the drives in my RAID setup. I treat any warning signs very seriously, so this meant a trip down to the local computer store to buy a replacement drive. I picked up a couple extras to upgrade an additional array (the 2x 16tb drives).

When shooting, we record simultaneously to two memory cards and when storing files for editing they're often stored on upto 5 drives simultaneously! 1x local drive, and then again on two separate raid arrays, with disk redundancy. Overkill, but better safe than sorry.

No need for a green screen when you have RGB lights and a grey wall! For this fun "school themed" video, we used a pair of Aputure P60C RGB lights to turn this boardroom wall into a makeshift green screen. It keyed out perfectly.

Quite the view today. Shooting interviews with a window view as the backdrop is a common request, but often quite challenging as you're competing with the brightness of the sun outdoors. Luckily today the windows are pretty well tinted at this office and it's a cracking day for it!

BTS yesterday with Tom Coyle who spent 30 years as Principal Trombonist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Decades of performing and practicing resulted in significant hearing loss. An unavoidable end for any musician who spends their life as part of an orchestra, as they are often exposed to sounds of up to 148db! Tom shared his story and talked about his life now using Widex hearing aids.

Had a lot of fun putting this one together. Don't often get to go loud & bold with edits, but think it really fit for the demolition industry. Footage was shot over 5x periods, and we condensed 5 hours of footage down to these 60 seconds.
