๐ŸŽ‰Great news for the ag sector with today's announcement that the Biosecurity Protection Levy has been scrapped ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ

AgForce welcomes the announcement by government today that the Biosecurity protection Levy will not be pursued any further. This should shine a light on the need for all levels government to consult properly with key stakeholders as a rule whenever new policies are developed.

We recognise the considerable effort that our own AgForce policy team and those of other peak agricultural bodies including our interstate SFOs and the National Farmers' Federation have put in to counter this.

Clearly there remains a risk to primary production from a constant and increasing barrage of invasive pests, weeds, and pathogens from outside of our borders. AgForce encourages government to address this through levies on container imports, which pose the most significant risk of new incursions.
