I recently did a post about gear effect and how the ball spins towards the center of the club based on where you strike it. Well, someone asked how this affects distance depending on where you hit the ball on the face. So, you know me—I deliver, lol!

Check out the photo—based on these strike locations, you’ll see the corresponding distances. This data was gathered over 5,477 shots using a GC Quad launch monitor by Lou Stagner, and it's really interesting.

One thing to note: if you're going to miss the center, you're slightly better off hitting it on the toe. The low heel is by far the worst place to strike it, and I see a lot of amateurs struggling with this. That's why I always work on moving them more towards the sweet spot or the toe, where you’ll get far better results!
