⭐️ Our new showgaze hit single, ‘Black Box’ ▪️is available now, everywhere.

We are heavily inspired by the writings and life of St Teresa of Avila and love how she spoke about her soul. As an ode to St Teresa, here are a few thoughts behind Black Box:

The soul is skilled at running away and ignoring the problem. The problem can evolve when she talks to God about it and can’t hear him, or rather, doesn’t get the reply and direction she expects to hear.
The soul runs away while sitting still and after being unable to lie to herself any longer, slowly she realises where true satisfaction comes from. It is almost because He isn’t the way she expects or wants; He does his own thing and deep down that’s what the soul craves, someone to do it for her. Someone to love her and lead the way. She must remove material obstacles in her life in order to understand and embrace this.

Also fun fact. Black Boxes’ are red. 🤯

⭐️ NEW ARTIST ⭐️ 🏰

In the Summer of 2014, Interior Castle (Joanna Grennan 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 , Emma Fradd 🇦🇺) burst onto the Ottawa 🇨🇦 music scene playing as many shows as they could, even making their way to Houston, Texas 🇺🇸 and recruiting fans after spending a year working on their self titled album, after meeting and forming their band in Canada 🇨🇦. They even scored a cheeky play on Australia’s biggest radio station in October of 2014 after getting their track selected from Unearthed.

Months later, the two moved to England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 where they continued to build their fanbase, write music and play a string of shows and festivals, including that saw Boney M and The Proclaimers headline as well as a favourite opening slot on two of ‘s shows in Birmingham.

The band expanded further in the summer of 2015 on a tour that hosted 23 shows across Canada 🇨🇦(Including one in Steubenville, Ohio) and a 6 show tour across England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in the fall with and Jimmy Davis.

After 8 years apart, working solo and in other groups ( , ) Interior Castle are back with another shoegaze hit, coming soon. ◼️

We are hyped to announce our latest addition to the ELF Family:

Hailing from Saskatoon, Canada, 🇨🇦 Claymere, A.K.A. Stephen McLane released his first EP ‘Waiting on the Sun” back in 2017 and has gifted alt rock fans with a handful of singles in the last 6 years. Claymere has played gigs at notable Saskatoon venues including the Capitol Music Club & Amigos Cantina. Since getting married, overcoming some vocal issues, and recently becoming a dad, Stephen is back at it, currently working on his first full length album to be released in 2024. The artist name “Claymere”, references God’s creative work in each of our lives, as a reminder to be “mere clay” in the Father’s hands.

We asked Stephen to fill out our Artist questionnaire so you could get to know him better:

🔹Introduce yourself, where you're from and describe your music like you’re trying to sell it on the street? 🔸 My music spans and pulls inspiration from many genres, so if you enjoy buffets and having multiple choices....there might be something you enjoy, even if its just one song.....or part of one song.

🔹What music are you working on, tell us about it, when does it come out? 🔸I will be releasing 3 new singles throughout the rest of 2023. I’ve had a lot of life changes in the past couple years and have finally gotten a balancing act together to find time to work on music again on a regular basis.

🔹Best Business idea? 🔸Buying a ton of Bitcoin back in 2010.....now I just need to find a time machine

🔹Quirkiest hobby? 🔸Playing the real time strategy video game, Age of Empires – been going strong for over 20 years

🔹Catholic Business that you would recommend? 🔸Word on Fire and Bishop Baron has blessed me with countless hours of great Catholic teaching and formation – cannot recommend it enough

🔹Can you write 4 compelling sentences for the beginning of a short story?' 🔸The time for the final battle had arrived. Both sides were poised, ready to charge. The tension could be cut with a knife. When all of a sudden, the one person who could put an end to all of it raised his voice.

🔹Introduce yourself, where you’re from and describe your music like you’re trying to sell it on the street?
I’m Amber. I’m from a town called Leigh (my middle name is Ashleigh for that reason) in Manchester, UK. I spent 11 years in Adelaide and now I’m in Brisbane! On the street I’d probably describe my music as “champagne rock on a lemonade budget”.

🔹What music are you working on tell us about it, when does it come out?
I’m about to release my debut single which comes out June 29!

🔹Best Business idea?
I’m the least business savvy person ever, but if I started a business it would have something to do with literacy learning for adults. Being able to read and write is a privilege!

🔹Quirkiest hobby?
I do impressions. And I love medieval history.

The last man on Earth stood in front of a mirror. He had limited time, and knew it was important he only considered the most essential things in these last, soul searching moments. He took a deep sigh of contemplation. Looking at himself forlornly, he finally whispered: “what if Shakira’s hips do lie?”

Tonight we saw the premiere of - the film is based on the parable of the sower. It is subtle, raw and high quality with an incredible lead actress. It’s themes resonate deeply with anybody grappling with what it means to be human and it sheds light on the hearts profound desire for God, even in unbelief. Congratulations to Dan and the team. We had an amazing time in Darwin kicking off our label release tour. Everyone is so laid back and not in a rush in Darwin, it is so refreshing!
