You voted for them so here they are, the winners for the 2024 OnlyBands Music Awards!

1. For Best 2024 Australian Album, we have Legal Speed by local Brisbane legends Radium Dolls ! Their eleven track debut album speeds down a country road of punk Australiana, exploring true motley of sounds accompanied by more clever and occasionally cryptic lyricism than you can shake a leg at.

2. For Best 2024 Australian Live Act we have Dr Sure's Unusual Practice who always receive glowing reviews from the audience as you might be able to tell! Dr. Sure himself is easily one of the most passionate performers that we’ve seen hit the stage and that passion can be found in everything else that he does for the music community.

3. My Friend Chloe have taken out the award for Best Australian Debut Release with their debut single Sunny Times in The Sunshine State. It’s a sweltering post-punk banger that delivers all the ripping guitars and punk rock energy that you’d expect from an ode to their home state of Queensland.

4. The award for Best Australian Music Video goes to CHEAP-SKATE for their single Cellphone. Having recruited the Devil himself for the clip, it's no wonder the music video is equal parts bloody and funny. Cheap Skate always gives a hundred percent for their music videos so the fans were definitely spoilt for choice for this year.

5. Party In The Paddock were the top pick for Best Australian Festival and they bloody well deserve it! As one of the last festivals in this country that is A. still running and B. hasn’t been ruined by Live Nation, it stands as an example of how things should be. Yes it’s located in bumf**k but if you get the chance to go to Tassie, it’s well worth the trip.

6. It might not be the biggest one you’ll walk into but The Bearded Lady has a soul to it that many other venues simply don’t, which is why it was voted Best Australian Venue! It’s where many Brisbane bands cut their teeth and all the acts who’ve played there and are now selling out shows across the country could stand to thank the Beardo for giving them a start!

7. Last but not least, Cody McWaters of Hunting Ground Studios has won Best Australian Producer. He produced the Radium Dolls album and has also worked with The Chats, Selfish Sons, The Unknowns, Perve Endings, and King Stingray, Cody already has multiple ARIA Award-winning albums under his belt, so we're sure he's well appreciated but we hope that this lets him know that many people can see the magic he puts into songs from behind the desk.

After a short break to recharge the batteries, VOIID are well and truly back in action, which is great news for Quintin because he's seen them over twenty five times now. Roll up, roll up for the inaugural 2024 OnlyBands Music Awards! It's Aus Music Month and we've interviewed the cream of the crop when it comes to Australian talent this year, but there's always more acts out there that deserve the attention.

We've got seven awards to give out and we're turning it over to you guys to let us know who you think should be awarded as the best of the best for 2024.

No there isn't a prize because we blew all our money consuming intoxicating substances as always but you get bragging rights at least and at the end of the day, isn't impressing people in the pub smokers area what we should aspire to?

For anyone wondering there we've been on the podcast front, earlier this year Jed moved to the United States in the hopes of joining the The Joe Rogan Experience as a host. Unfortunately he was turned down for a lack of enthusiasm on the topic of chimpanzees.

He then tried to join the Tucker Carlson podcast but was fired for being far more intelligent than the host and the listenership combined. His tenure as co-host for Talk Tuah was unfortunately cut short after his working visa was cancelled and he was banned from the US just like he was banned from Tinder for his mankini photos.

He's now had to return to the land down under. Might be time for us to stop writing and actually record something for once. Spring has officially sprung and it's .
