Does anyone have any information to share about the original Boyup Brook Caravan Park?

Apparently it then became the drive-in, followed by the original hockey oval….

Request for information from Mike Farrall
______________________________________________________________________

I used to live in Boyup Brook …my father was Harry Farrall.
I am trying to contact the family of Hec Williamson who married Margaret Matthew’s the daughter of Ross & Myra Mathews.
I’m 74 now, Hec had 2 sons who were a few years younger than me. Hec used to work for Elders.
I would really appreciate any leads you might be able to give me.
I left Boyup Brook after finishing school there in 1963.

A request for information from Mike Cuneo…

Searching for information on Bill CUNEO.
W.J.CUNEO was Road Board Secretary of Boyup Brook Shire Council in 1931-34. He played football for Boyup Brook. I have a newspaper team photo including him from about 1925?
His son Murray was born in 1931 at Boyup Brook Hospital. Doreen his wife I believe had family in Donnybrook? Formerly Doreen Barrett.
In anticipation, thank you.

Searching for some information about a Model T Ford, rego BU.4
————————————————————
Hi all,
I may have James Brooks (passed 1946) of boyup brook, model t ford and he may be of relation to someone on here?

Over the last 9 years I have rebuilt a 1916 model t ford.

A close friend brought the car as a wreck from a farmer (have lost his name) in boyup brook.

Unfortunately the car had no recorded history when I acquired it apart from that it was named “the silver bullet”.

Recently WA registration history has been made available from 1915 onwards and the only model t ford that has been registered around 1916 (actually registered in 1917) was to a Mr James Brooks of Boyup Brook.

Number plate BU•4

I’m hoping that he is a relation to someone on here so that I can show them what I have done with the car and maybe someone in their family may have some photos of stories of the car or even some information on James.

Kind regards
Cameron Davey

Lost Boyup recently received an email from former teacher, Allan Kent, who wished to share some of his memories. Allan is planning to visit Boyup later this month and would love to run into his old students. . .
For three years 1960, 1961 and 1963 I was the science teacher at Boyup Brook Junior High School. This was my first teaching appointment after I graduated from Claremont Teachers College in 1959. And it was a very memorable time - including boarding at “Alice’s Palace” and the air from Flax Mill.

During my first year at the school, the Principal was Gordon Eastwood and Norman Tredrae as his deputy. Mrs Smythe was the senior mistress.

The photograph is of my 1960 second year students.
I do remember a few of them. I remember Margaret Forest well because one day she gave me a huge basket of mushrooms which she had collected on her farm - and I became quite ill after eating too many of them. I also remember Harvey Dickson, because I boarded at his parent's farm during 1961.

All of these people would now be aged around 80, so perhaps seeing this old photo might put a smile on a few faces? And perhaps someone could have a photo of the 3rd year 1960 students?

After my 3 years at Boyup, I was transferred to teach in Perth. A few years later I resigned from the Education Department and started my own business.

I am now 85 years old and have lived in Sydney since 1980.

Does anyone have a copy? Would be a fabulous addition to the Boyup Brook library.

A request for information from Laurie Matthews...

Does anyone have any information about Ross and Myra Matthews?
I think my father, John Matthews was born in 1929, and understand my grandfather, Ross died in1954.
Any amount of info about the house they lived in or more would be extremely helpful.
Thanking you in advance.

Seeking information about the Indigenous heritage of Boyup Brook.
I am studying a Cert 4 in Conservation and Land Management and have to report on a place of potential cultural significance.
I have collected some information about the Smith and Collard family who used to live on the Hack's farm and later on Northlands Farm.
If you have anymore information, or know someone that is willing to share knowledge or memories about the time around the 1950s, I'd greatly appreciate that. Email [email protected].
