🔥🔥CUNNINGHAM HIGHWAY TO REOPEN - the Dept of Transport and Main Roads has announced that the highway will reopen around mid-afternoon today subject to QFES approval and weather conditions. However, there will be areas where the speed limit will be 50km/hr.
🔥🔥EMERGENCY FENCING FUND - the Boonah Lions have begun an appeal for donations towards an emergency fencing fund for landholders who lost fencing due to the bushfires in the Fassifern area. The club have already received some donations.
The initial round of grants will offer a $300 voucher to successful applicants. The vouchers can be spent on fencing materials at Boonah and Kalbar Mitre 10 or Boonah and Kalbar Farmcraft.

Any rainfall is welcome. The drought continues to be a major issue across all districts. Up until last night, most areas had only recorded between 210 and 220mm for the year - the average rainfall for the year is around 780 to 850mm.

🔥FIRE UPDATE - MT LINDESAY - SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) advises there is a bushfire approaching Mount Lindesay. People in the area are in imminent danger and need to seek shelter now to survive.
Do not attempt to leave the area. Driving now would be extremely dangerous and potentially deadly. If you are not in the area, do not return.
As at 4.15pm Saturday 16 November a fast-moving, dangerous fire is travelling in a. easterly direction towards Hardgrave Road, Mount Lindesay. It is currentlyhaving an impact on Hardgrave Road. The fire is expected to have a life-threatening impact on the community.
Conditions are now very dangerous and firefighters are unable to prevent the fire advancing.
The fire poses a threat to all lives directly in its path. Fire crews may not be able to protect your property. You should not expect a firefighter at your door: shelter now. Power, water, and mobile phone service may be lost.
People in the area will be affected by thick smoke and embers, which will reduce visibility and air quality. As the fire approaches, it will become difficult for you to see, hear, and breathe. You will experience intense heat, darkness, and loud noise.
A place of refuge has been opened at the Beaudesert Showgrounds on Albert St. Those leaving the area should take the Mount Lindesay Highway north towards Rathdowney and onto Beaudesert.

TAROME and MOOGERAH-CLUMBER fire warnings from QFES have been downgraded to PREPARE TO LEAVE - WATCH & ACT. Those fire fronts are tonight burning within containment lines. The outbreak across Tarome Road has been controlled and the fire fronts contained on the western side of the road.
The Scenic Rim is one of 42 local government areas where a State of Fire Emergency has been declared - no lighting of outdoor fires, no outdoor activities such as the use of power tools which could spark a fire and QFES has the power to requisition plant and equipment if needed.

LEAVE NOW - WATCH & ACT: Conditions are continuing to deteriorate at the TAROME and MOOGERAH CLUMBER fires and the QFES warning remains upgraded.
And now there is a PREPARE TO LEAVE - WATCH & ACT warning for Mt ALPHEN and DOUBLE TOP: an unpredictable bushfire is burning in inaccessible land between Mount Alphem and Double Top. The bushfire is travelling in a north easterly direction towards Spicers Gap Road and Wilsons Road.
The fire is likely to impact areas around Spicers Gap Road and Wilsons Road.

LEAVE NOW - WATCH & ACT: Conditions are continuing to deteriorate at the TAROME and MOOGERAH CLUMBER fires and the QFES warning has been upgraded.
TAROME: Currently, at 2.05pm, a fast moving fire is travelling in a north-easterly direction towards Mount Frazer and Tarome Road. It is expected to impact within the next two hours.
A place of refuge has been opened at Aratula Community Sports Centre, Carter Road. A place of refuge for horses has been opened at Kalbar Showgrounds, George Street.

8.50pm Friday November 6
QFES heightened the warning level for the fire at 8.30pm to LEAVE NOW - WATCH & ACT and stated that conditions are deteriorating.
Follow your bushfire survival plan now. If you do not have a plan, your safest option is to leave now if it is clear to do so. If you are not in the area, do not return, as conditions are too dangerous.
Currently the large, unpredictable fire is burning between WILSON ROAD & SPICERS GAP ROAD, CLUMBER, and CROFTBY ROAD & WILD CATTLE CREEK ROAD, MOOGERAH. It is expected to have an impact on Wilson Road and Spicers Gap Road, Clumber, and Croftby Road and Wild Cattle Creek Road, Moogerah in the coming hours.

LOCAL FIRE BAN - has been extended until midnight on Wednesday in local government areas across the region - Scenic Rim, Lockyer, Ipswich, Somerset, Logan and Gold Coast.
TAROME: A QFES - PREPARE TO LEAVE- WATCH & ACT level warning remains in place.
According to the QFES it is travelling from Mount Castle towards Ryan Road, Hinrichsen Road and Tarome Road. The fire is likely to impact Simmonds Road, Rose Road and the Cunningham Highway.

#UPDATE: QFES have issued an Emergency Warning to ‘Leave Immediately’ for residents of the locality of Townson.
"Currently as at 2.25pm Tuesday, October 8, a dangerous fire is travelling in an easterly direction from the Glen Rock National Park towards Mulgowie Road, Townson,” QFES advised. "It is expected to have an impact on Mulgowie Road, Townson. The fire is expected to have a significant impact on the community."
Anyone in the area should evacuate in a northerly direction via Mulgowie Road.
An evacuation centre has been set-up at the Laidley Cultural Centre on the northern side of the Laidley township at 3 Laidley Plainland Road, Laidley North.
Conditions are now very dangerous and firefighters may soon be unable to prevent the fire advancing. The fire may pose a threat to all lives directly in its path. Fire crews may not be able to protect your property. You should not expect a firefighter at your door: act now.

The bushfire has reached the locality of Townson and is travelling in a north easterly direction from Taylor Road Townson towards Mulgowie, Merryvale and Rosevale.
QFES advises that people in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.
