A walk along the track behind our office is a beautiful way to reset the day.

A real honour to cover the Regional Architecture Association Peripheral conference in the Blue Mountains earlier this month.
After a poignant Welcome to Country at The Gully in Katoomba by Aunty Carol Cooper, there was a full day of fascinating presentations at Everglades House & Gardens - National Trust NSW, including Richard Leplastrier, who worked on Sydney Opera House with Jorn Utzon.

When Aitken RE founder Jim Aitken agreed to allow us to write his story, it was both a privilege and a daunting task.

We'd known Jim's story for many years but learnt patience waiting for the right time and platform through which to share it.

Jim passed away a few days ago after battling illness. He was 76.

It's an honour to share his story in this piece originally published in 2010 in the People Like You coffee book.

Having a mobile business where we regularly work from different venues is a privilege because we get to explore beautiful places like Everglades House & Gardens - National Trust NSW.

We were here, surrounded by spring flowers, covering the Regional Architecture Association conference earlier this month.

But the change of scenery benefits all our clients too because a fresh outlook prompts the creativity we need to serve them.

Isn't she a beauty?!

We have watched this majestic waratah gradually unfurl over the past couple of weeks in a secret location near our office in the lower Blue Mountains.

Remember when gin was a conservative liquor? A predictable tipple?
Well times have changed.
Gin has thrown off its dusty granny’s mantle.
Blue Mountains Gin Company is part of the “gin-aissance” and has a new venue in which to celebrate the liberation in a side street off the usual tourist track.
The Factory Bar, 24 Whitton St, Katoomba, is open from October 5.
We were chuffed to shoot these pictures for Blue Mountains Gin Company prior to the opening.

It was such a privilege to capture celebrations at The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, Mount Tomah to mark the 30th anniversary of the discovery of the Wollemi pine recently.

Botanic garden and NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service team members involved in the discovery and conservation efforts since, reunited to plant their own trees, along with garden volunteers.

Among those there was David Noble, who discovered "the dinosaur tree" and after whom it was named.

It's the start of another season, which means another Blue Mountains Tourism destination magazine has just been published.

We loved learning more about restaurant owner Chathun Perera and checking out (and tasting) Leura's newest cafe/restaurant, Gia Cafe & Bistro and can't wait for Blue Mountains Gin Company new The Factory Bar to open in October.

Dingo Darbo shared valuable knowledge about bush tucker on Gundungurra Country, and wow, the care, patience and passion of Hugh Ward and the team at Blue Mountains Climbing School to ensure that our amazing landscape is here for anyone who wants to engage with it is next level.

Julie Miller has stories about the best tours in the Mountains, markets, art, wellness and food spots.

And guest travel writer Kirstie Bedford shares her love story with Varuna Writers Centre after her recent writer's residency.

Great to see our media release promoting the Australian Bushfire Building Conference published in the Blue Mountains Gazette this week.

It's such an important conference for any business involved in the planning, designing, building, consulting, regulating and certifying buildings in bushfire-prone areas.

Presented by Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise in partnership with Blue Mountains City Council and organised by Blue Mountains Events & Conferences, the conference will be held at the Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains by MGallery from September 11 to 13.

Can't believe this story hasn't been done before - a fabulous roundup of Indigenous experiences in the Blue Mountains by Emily Riches for Truly Aus, the inflight magazine for Rex Airlines.

We were pleased to design, arrange and accompany this visit for Blue Mountains Tourism.

Thank you to the local businesses who generously shared culture and produce on Gundungurra Country.

And if you need to travel in regional Australia, make sure you do it with Rex.

After sending numerous journalists on the reopened Zig Zag Railway in the Blue Mountains, it was a real treat to sit back and enjoy the magic of steam as guests on a local tourism industry excursion.

The steam train choofs up the zigs and down the zags and over 155-year-old viaducts between Clarence and Lithgow fortnightly on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Australian Bushfire Building Conference has been a catalyst for collaborative change for how governments, the building industry and communities live and operate in bushfire areas since the inaugural response in 2015 to the devastating 2013 fires in the Blue Mountains.

Presented by Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise in partnership with Blue Mountains City Council, the conference will be held at the Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains by MGallery from September 11 to 13.

So if you are involved in the planning, designing, building, consulting, regulating and certifying buildings in bushfire-prone areas, this conference is for you.

This year’s theme is “Sustainable solutions, enduring legacy: Australian Bushfire Building Conference celebrates a decade of learning”.

We were proud to work with Blue Mountains Events & Conferences to produce this media release, accompanied by our images from the 2023 event.

A decade after experts gathered in response to the devastating 2013 bushfires in the Blue Mountains, the 10th Australian Bushfire Building Conference will celebrate 10 years of learning how to prepare buildings to withstand bushfire.Presented by Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise (BMEE) in partnersh...

According to the latest Penrith Economic Development Strategy, local employment is currently at 84,000 with an extra 23,000 jobs needed by 2031.

Winter Sports World will generate 2,724 new jobs, making it one of the largest employers in the Penrith LGA.

That will go a long way to help Penrith City Council reach its goal.
