Veterans MC, Mid North S.A Chapter

The Veterans Motorcycle Club is comprised of former and current servicemen of the Australian Defence Force. Membership is earned.

We have risked our lives in hostile environments overseas to preserve the rights and freedom that all Australians enjoy. Many factors, such as experiences in country, or acceptance by Australian society post deployment, have left Veterans feeling lost and adrift in mainstream Australia. d that the club provides the same vital lifesaving support and brotherhood that they had whilst still serving. In late 1989, an advertisement was placed in a Melbourne newspaper seeking those Vietnam Veterans who were also Motorcyclists, and who would be interested in starting a Motorcycle Club. There was a strong response and, so, at the Broadford Hotel, the Victorian Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club was born. During the same time other like-minded Vietnam Veterans across Australia were coming together and forming chapters. In April, 1992, the Vietnam Veterans South Australian Chapter was formed. In September 2008, the second South Australian Chapter, the Mid North SA Chapter was raised. In 2010, both South Australian Chapters proposed a change to Veterans MC, thus allowing veterans of other conflicts to become full members. In 2013 we became the Mid North SA Chapter of the Veterans Motorcycle Club, allowing full recognition and support for local Australian military veterans from all conflicts. Full Patch Membership; is open to veterans who have served in an overseas conflict or peace keeping operation and has been awarded the appropriate medals and awards. (Be warned, we conduct a very thorough investigation into claims of being a Veteran)
Military Membership; is offered to persons who have military service and did not serve in an overseas conflict, but wish to support the club. Military Members, do not wear the full back patch that Veterans wear, but, wear significant patches that shows that they are members. Membership to the club is not an entitlement, just because you are a veteran, or in the case of a Military Member, Ex-Military. WE ask if you want to become a member, not the other way around. A period of getting to know members is obligatory, and once membership is proposed, a Nom time is expected. Members must own a registered approved motorcycle of over 650cc, and hold an appropriate license to ride a motorcycle. We are not looking for numbers, we only want good men

We are honored to see the write up from our local newspaper, The Plains Producer, covering our memorial tour for Remembrance Day. This journey allowed us to pay respects to those who served, and it was heartening to see our community come together in remembrance. Special thanks to everyone who joined and helped make this day memorable, and to The Plains Producer for capturing the spirit of our tour. Wow, what an incredible day over the weekend! A HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Remembrance Day Memorial Tour. Your support is greatly appreciated!

We hope you left with a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices of our brave Veterans and that you had a chance to reflect and learn alongside us. We also hope you had an opportunity to pause and reflect today for a minutes silence where you're able to.

This Saturday, November 9th, registration opening at 8:45 AM, join us for a Remarkable Remembrance Day Ride that promises to be both moving and memorable!

We’ll be cruising to three powerful memorials, located in Kapunda, Saddleworth and Riverton, taking time to pay our respects and reflect on the sacrifices made. Along the way, we’ll feature a special presentation about a local WWI or WWII veteran, with a few surprises along the way. Test your knowledge with some fun quizzes about the veterans being honored, and you could walk away with some cool prizes! We'll give you a sneak peek this Friday to help you guess what Veterans are being presented so you can prepare for the surprise quiz!

After the ride, we'll return to the clubhouse for a special ceremony to honor our own memorial, followed by a LIVE AUCTION of a one-of-a-kind Remembrance Day painting, hand-painted by one of our very own talented members. We have titled this painting "INNOCENCE LOST" 🎨✨

We’ve even created a dummy set of ‘orders’—a fun, abridged version of what you'd get if you were in the military. Check it out and see if you understand the instructions!

This is a fantastic opportunity to honor our local ANZACs, reflect before Remembrance Day, and get some wind therapy while you’re at it. 🌬️

To top it all off, you are welcome to camp with a swag at our clubhouse should you wish to continue onto the night with us!

What a ride this past weekend has been! 🌞🏍️ We set out for our annual gathering at the National Memorial Wall in Gippsland, Victoria with our brothers from Vietnam Veterans & Veterans MC - Gippsland.

Yearly, chapters from all around Australia of the VV & VMC, meet to commemorate our brothers who are no longer with us.

It's always a weekend of brotherhood and reflection, however this year hit a little harder for members of our chapters in South Australia, as we had to honour two of our own, Fozzy and Biscuit, who now ride with the best of them in the skies. 🕊️🙏

Emotions ran high as their names were revealed for eternity onto the wall, but we stood strong together, as family. May they ride in peace, always remembered, never forgotten.

Until next year when we can commemorate them again, ride safe and stay upright👊🏽

Today we held a small gathering, consisting of Members & Family to Celebrate our
Chapters 14th Birthday.

We Thank those who attended today & those who helped make it all happen.

We Thank everyone who has supported the Chapter over the years & we look forward to hitting the roads on two wheels for many years to come.

Happy Father's Day to all the incredible dads out there! 🙌

But a particularly special shoutout and welcome home to the boys who returned yesterday from their epic journey to Darwin, covering nearly 7,000 kilometers round trip!

They braved many challenges on the road like the heat, blown tires, collisions with unsecured loads requiring hospitalisation, and brushes with fate - but repeatedly gave the grim reaper the finger the entire time!🖕🖕
It's good to have everyone home and safe in one piece!

With representation from 3 S.A Chapters, it was amazing to reunite with our brothers from the Veterans MC NT chapter during their annual dice run, which attracted over 100 bikes and was a huge success.

Now, it's time for our heroes to kick back, relax, and be treated like kings on this special Father's Day!

Welcome home, and here's to an unforgettable adventure!💪💪
