Here we have build number 9! Started this one in 2022 and it sat to the side while other priorities took hold, enter the and it was time to put a solid effort into finishing it off. While I did my best to make the deadline I just couldn't make it happen and finished way after the mark, but rather than cut corners I reminded myself that I had to do it right for Jurgs.

This build, much like the prior version, is a 25" neck-through with blackwood/silky/blackwood wings. This does not feature a sound despite being heavily chambered and, of course, a singlecut design. Initially, the plan was for a much lighter natural finish with no stain. However, a couple of little mishaps pushed my hand, I maintained the chrome hardware and white mother of pearl inlays to brighten the build. Took a leap on the electronics and went with a ghost bridge and preamp and a single vintage JBJ and very happy with the sound so far!

This guitar is also my entry to the 2024 competition and will also be entering it into the maker of the year competition. So please cross your fingers and toes for me🤞

Plan from here is to wrap up the commision build, knock myself together a quick tele and revisit and modify some of my older builds before tackling something like this again.

Here we have a great 1989 Greco Super Power Les Paul Custom in very sought after Violin Burst finish.

Made in Japan quality that we as guitarists all love, this guitar is in great players condition, couple of minor chips and marks on the front and some minor scratches on the rear. Presents very well for a 35 year old instrument. Please view the photos as they will form part of the description, additional photos available at request.

The gold hardware is all original Greco parts showing moderate patina, has cleaned up very well and functions perfectly.

Weighing in at 3.9KG with a 24.75” scale length, the set-neck has a volute and slim profile. Truss rod confirmed operational, a complete refret has been performed with Jescar Jumbo fret wire ensuring this instrument will plays for many more years to come. The bound rosewood fretboard has a radius of 10”. Set up with a medium action using Daddario Nickel Wound strings, EXL140 10-52.
The original humbuckers measure in at 7.44K at the bridge and 7.47K at the neck. All of the electronics work as they should.

Realised I hadn't even shared pictures of the lefty Tele I built, on display at The Guitar Room in Kilmore.
Specs on this one are Vic Ash body, Blackwood bound top, Spotted Gum set neck and Gidgee fretboard, with a full suite of Gotoh hardware and pickups.

Here we have a fantastic example of a 1987 Greco Les Paul Custom in Black.

Made in Japan, this guitar is in great condition, some minor chips (one on the tip of the headstock rear, one on the rear at the strap button, and minor finish ding on the back) and player wear, presents very well for a 36 year old instrument. The gold hardware is all original MIJ parts showing moderate-fair wear, has cleaned up very well and functions perfectly.

Weighing in at 4.42KG with a 24.75” scale length, the set-neck with volute, measuring in at 21mm at the 1st and 24.2mm at the 11th. Truss rod confirmed operational, frets have been levelled, crowned and polished. The bound rosewood fretboard has a radius of 12”. Set up with a medium action using Daddario Nickel Wound strings, EXL140 10-52.
The original Screamin humbuckers measure in at 7.55K at the bridge and 7.56K at the neck. All of the electronics work as they should, and feature the same high quality braided pickup leads seen on any Gibson.

Weighing in at 4.4KG with a 24.75” scale length, the set-neck has a volute and slightly beefier C-shape profile than the later mint series models, measuring in at 22.2mm at the 1st and 25mm at the 11th. Truss rod confirmed operational, frets have been levelled, crowned and polished and maintain the original fret nibs. The bound rosewood fretboard has a radius of 9.5”. Set up with a medium action using Daddario Nickel Wound strings, EXL140 10-52.
The original Maxon humbuckers measure in at 7.64K at the bridge and 7.62K at the neck. All of the electronics work as they should, and feature the same high quality braided pickup leads seen on any Gibson.

Here we have a rather clean 1990 Mint Collection Greco Les Paul Custom in white.

Made in Japan, this guitar is in great condition, one very small chip on back of headstock, a stain on the rear bottom near the jack and very minor player wear that is hard to capture on camera, presents very well for a 33 year old instrument. The gold hardware is all original MIJ parts showing little wear, has cleaned up very well and functions perfectly.

Weighing in at 4.26KG with a 24.75” scale length, the long-tenon set-neck has a slim 60s C-shape feel with volute. Truss rod confirmed operational, frets have been levelled, crowned and polished. The bound rosewood fretboard has a radius of 10”. Set up with a medium action using Daddario Nickel Wound strings, EXL140 10-52, it plays beautifully and sounds as great as it looks.
The original Screamin ceramic humbuckers measure in at 7.42K at the bridge and 7.46K at the neck. All of the electronics work as they should, and feature the same high quality braided pickup leads seen on any Gibson.
