Warning level: ADVICE
Warning area: Beaudesert, Kooralbyn, Rathdowney and surrounding areas

Smoke is currently affecting Beaudesert, Kooralbyn, Rathdowney and surrounding areas. This is from multiple fires burning in the area, including hazard reduction burns.
What you should do:
- Stay inside and close windows and doors.
- Keep respiratory medication close by.
- Follow your bushfire survival plan now. If you do not have a bushfire survival plan, make one on the QFD website.
- Avoid driving through smoke if you can.
- Watch out for firefighters working in the area.
- Do not fly drones around the fire. Drones affect air operations.
Impacts:
- No properties are at risk.
- Smoke can make it hard for some people to breathe.
- Smoke can make it hard to see when you are driving.
- Some roads may be closed.

A fire is burning between Ridge Road and Tamrookum Creek Road. It is moving towards Ridge Road.
What you should do:
- Stay informed because conditions could change:
- Check the QFD Current Bushfires and Warnings website regularly.
- Follow QFD on Facebook and X.com.
- Listen to your local radio station.
- Tell friends, family and neighbours in the area.
- Decide what you will do if the bushfire gets closer.

- Decide where you and the people you live with will go. This could be with family or a friend away from the fire.

Beaudesert Kingfishers U14 Division 1 boys have become first-time minor premiers after remaining top of the ladder, undefeated, throughout their whole season.
Coach Geoff Burr has moved on from Mustangs Brothers to coach his first season for Beaudesert Kingfishers and has since helped bring the U14s to the major finals.

udesert Country Women’s Association (CWA) hosted their 97th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 25 to celebrate a year’s worth of accomplishments and their incoming committee for 2025.
The Centre was warm and welcoming with the CWA branch members from Beaudesert, Coomera, Wonglepong and Beenleigh all engaged in small talk with a cuppa and homemade sweet treats.

EmpowHER 2025 aims to remove barriers for women and girls of all ages to access inclusive, low-cost, health and wellbeing activities that empower them to increase their connection to their body, mind and local community.

AN EXCHANGE of cultures gave Beaudesert State School Students and 12 high school students from Japan some unique experiences recently.
The Japanese students from the Gunma prefecture, about an hour north of Tokyo, stayed with host families in Beaudesert and attended Beaudesert State School for the week.

BEAUDESERT was the overall winner of the annual Scenic Rim Netball Carnival which drew teams from Tamborine Mountain, Beechmont and Fassifern clubs to the Beaudesert home ground.

An unplanned power outage is currently affecting over 1,000 people in Beaudesert and surrounding areas to the east of the township.
Residents near the corner of Eaglesfield and Boundary Streets heard two loud explosions minutes apart before they lost power. A power pole briefly caught alight but is out now.
A fire crew is at the scene and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
There have been no injuries.
