Producer/DJ Andreas. is a record collector and employee of the Sydney based Something Else Records store. Being surrounded by endless crates of hazy house and subtle techno has provided him with a wealth of influences that he wields with precision. Leaning often towards the deep and dubby but always remaining forward and functional, Andrea's Djing is well rounded. For this podcast, he has delved into his record collection to deliver a special wax-only mix for your ears!

"I've always dug podcasts that you can put on and just forget that it's on. These usually end up being live recordings, but there are definitely dj's who can select music at home, and make it flow in the same way it would with a breathing audience in front of you. People like Carsten Jost and Yone-Ko consistently put out selections of music that could easily soundtrack a long drive, a rainy Sunday, or a club night, and that's essentially what I've gone for here."

Oscar.Mike has been steadily carving out a name for himself over the last few years, having performed under a number of aliases drawing inspiration from a diverse range of sounds and genres. Oscar is an avid record collector with an expansive collection of techno, house, breaks and dub, who can always maintain an accessibility that ensures he is able to connect with the dance floor.

This versatility has seen him become a trusted choice for promoters to support acts like Shlomo, Deadbeat, Batu and Pearson Sound in years past. Having also turned his hand to production, we released Oscar’s first digital EP where it gained the attention of Claude Young, Luigi Tozzi, Benjamin Damage, and many others.

Plug yourself into this mix as Oscar.Mike showcases a 4 deck mixing hybrid live set combining loops of his own productions and sections of tracks from some of his favourite artists.

Oscar Mike’s Djing reflects his eclectic yet cohesive range and results in an open-mindedness that allows him to pursue a diverse sound, unbound by one genre. His performances often incorporate digital setups involving multi-channel mixing, looping, delay pedals, and FX that blur the lines between DJing and live performance. Equally comfortable staying true to the roots of djing; he also performs vinyl-only sets drawn from a meandering record collection that includes current releases, dubplates & edits from the bass culture scene and classics from over 20yrs of collecting.

This multifaceted approach to electronic music is something that carries across to his involvement with the Australian label Nightime Drama. Having had his productions draw the attention of Claude Young, Luigi Tozzi, and Benjamin Damage amongst others. He has now joined the Nightime Drama team behind the scenes to help progress the label's repertoire and develop it further as a platform for quality House and Techno.
