"Change is the only constant in life." - Heraclitus
I've experienced many changes in the last 3 years and a major change this year and one thing I have come to learn is that self-trust can make this process easier to navigate.
Self-trust is more than just confidence; it's the foundation for resilience, smart decision-making, and unlocking our potential.
And it's a practice I have come to rely on during challenging periods in my professional life.
Here are some insights I have learned over time.

✨ Embracing Daily Wins: Body, Mind, & Soul ✨

Every day, I commit to achieving three types of victories - a physical win, a mental win, and a spiritual win. It's a practice that keeps me balanced, grounded, and continuously growing.

Let me share with you what this looks like in my life! 🌱

🏋️‍♀️ Physical Win: Each day, I engage in a physical activity that resonates with my body's needs. Be it a brisk walk by the beach, a jog, lifting weights, a cold shower or stretching.

🧠 Mental Win: To nurture my mind, I either read a couple of pages of a book, (current books on the go: Diary of a CEO and Confident and Killing It.) Creating something new. Study something or Listen to a podcast. These practices keep my mind sharp and my creativity flowing.

🌿 Spiritual Win: Lastly, I dedicate time for spiritual growth. Whether it's through meditation, self-reflection, journaling, or writing out my values and goals, this daily practice brings me inner peace and a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.

This approach to life has been transformative for me. I encourage you to identify your daily wins in these three areas. Remember, it's not about grand achievements; it's about consistent, small steps that lead to a fuller, more balanced life.

Let's celebrate our daily wins together! 💪📚🕊️

🌟 Transform Your Mind, Transform Your Life 🌟

As I journey through life, I've discovered five key mindset shifts that have been game-changers for me, and I want to share them with you!

🌱 First, practice Self-Compassion: Treat yourself with kindness and understanding - it's about being your own best friend in times of struggle. treat yourself like you would your best friend.

💡 Second, Learn from Mistakes: Embrace your failures as stepping stones to success; each mistake is a lesson in disguise.

🚀 Third, Adopt a Growth Mindset: Remember, your abilities and intelligence can grow with effort and persistence. Think about the last time you learnt something new and how well you do it now. Drive a car. Swim 50m. Learned a language. There is so much evidence in our individual growth.

🧘 Fourth, Be Present: Focus on the now. The power of mindfulness brings clarity and peace to our hectic lives.

🌈 Lastly, Cultivate an Abundance Mindset: There's plenty out there for everyone. Seeing the world as a place of abundance changes how we approach life and opportunities.

What are the mindset shifts you will focus on today?

So this one is a great little adductor stretch I do but the great thing is it’s an awesome all over leg and hip routine.

Always work so you can feel the stretch, but you’re not in pain or holding your breath.

When you get into the movement, keep an eye on your knees and make sure they don’t fall towards the midline.
(If you’re going down on the right side the right knee keeps in line with the toes. It should not fall inwards to the left)

Give it a go and let me know how it feels!

What I know to be true about Feeling Good 💃🏻

💩 It can sometimes feel s**t in the process

😫 Sometimes we have to do stuff we kinda don’t want to

🪖It always feels harder before it feels easy but as soon as it feels easy you know it’s about to get hard again

🎉 You’ve gotta put in the work to reap the rewards (big duh) but the “work” will look different for everyone

☀️and sometimes it’s non of the above and the journey is awesome

Massage therapy is a powerful tool for improving physical and emotional health. (Don’t need to tell me twice!)

Don’t take my word for it though! Check out some of the amazing benefits of Massage 🤩

💥 It eases muscle pain - Massage therapy helps to relax muscle tissue, which helps to relieve painful contractions, spasms, and nerve pressure.

💥 Enhances Circulation - Good circulation provides damaged, tight muscles with oxygen-rich blood needed for healing. Massage promotes blood flow as the pressure generated by the massage technique actually moves the blood through the congested area.

💥 Improves Sleep Quality - Massage reduces stress by decreasing cortisol (4), a stress hormone, and increasing serotonin and dopamine- which are neurotransmitters that help to stabilize mood.

💥 Boosts immune function - Studies show that massage therapy boosts our immune system, flushes out toxins, and at the same time increases blood flow throughout the body. Massage helps increase white blood cell activity, fight illness, and reduce cortisol.

With all the benefits mentioned above, which one is your favourite? Let me know in the comment section, I would love to know! ⤵️

Inspiration can be the catalyst of incredible change in our lives. It can be as big or as little as needed to provide the spark or joy we experience and influence our state of being. But what if all it took was a little hope?

A little trust.

Movement for Movement's Sake
💃🏻
A concept first introduced by Merce Cunningham during the post-modern-dance era of the 20th century. The choreography didn't rely on a theme or storyline; there was no underlying message to the work.
The movement simply explored what was possible, stretching the limitations of dance as far as they could push them.
🤸🏻‍♀️

The only limitations we have are the ones we impose on ourselves.

How you move does not matter.

Only that you do.

Trigger Ball for the Glutes
🍑
When using the trigger ball for the glutes it's easy to just focus on the fleshiest part of the butt... otherwise known as Glute Max. (Which is great!… obviously)
But the areas that also need time and attention normally get neglected and these are the areas that normally elicit and whole lotta wincing on the massage table.
😬
So the next time you're using the trigger ball on the Glutes, make sure you follow this video to release those gnarly trigger points you tend to miss.

🦵 Hip Adductor Release with Trigger Ball

⚡ If you are feeling tightness in your hips or discomfort in the groin region with activity then then give this trigger point release routine a go.
-
✌️ There 5 muscles that make up the adductors but the two major hip adductors along the inner thigh and groin are Adductor Longus and Adductor Magnus.

🤕 If we have a loss of hip mobility, this can place undue stress on the adductors, the attachment sights and the surrounding structures having to overcompensate for mobility and stability.

👆 SEE ABOVE on how to find the adductors and use the trigger ball to release any trigger points and stretch the tissue.

⚠️ This is not particularly comfortable... But then again, releasing trigger points rarely is...

Feeling Stuck?

This is a nice and quick routine that may give you quick relief and improve your range of motion temporarily to help you achieve the necessary movement for what you need in that moment.

“But if it doesn’t improve it long term what’s the point?”

Great question.
When doing ANYTHING, it’s important to take into consideration the task and goal at hand.
If the goal is to achieve long term flexibility gains, then this is not the practice you’d do.
But if the goal is to relieve tension, improve joint range to take on load, then this is absolutely fine.

Should everyone do it.
No.
Is it good for you?
Yes?
Are there other ways to work the shoulder to prepare for load?
For sure.
Do you have to keep in mind the end goal?
Absolutely.
Could you ask yourself a thousand more questions?
Yep.

My point?
Choose what’s right for you.
Choose to do something over nothing.
Choose intention and stay safe.

Great movement doesn’t have to be complex.

You don’t need 15 massage guns, wrap 37 bands around you, balance on a kettlebell while juggling 7 puppies and a chainsaw😱

Keep it simple.
Know your goal.

And enjoy the ball squishing into your muscles 🤤

Happy Hips

The hip flexor the Psoas muscle is a muscle that can get a lot of attention.
😱And by attention I mean, we think we need to stretch it til the cows come home because we sit for most of the day.

😬But did you know this muscle can be tight AND weak. Not a good combo. So start including some strength as well as stretches for a more healthy hips and back.
More Psoas strength work to come.

💪🏼 Start with this which is an excellent hip mobility exercise as well as a strengthener.

1. Hug the leg to your chest then let go and try to keep it up. When you feel it lowering, repeat the hug, let go and hold. I do this 3-5 times.

2. Slowly open the hip joint by taking the leg out to the side. Try to keep the knee lifted at the same height as the hip and the foot directly under the knee.

3. As you move the leg around to the back, try to start the movement from the foot, keeping the knee where it is. Move around to the back and reverse the movement to come back.

4. Repeat on both sides.

Keep the movement slow and controlled and be mindful of differences to both sides.
I like to do this 3x each side.

Here’s to Happy Hips 🎉

Adductor Release

Did you know tight adductors can cause knee pain, hip pain, groin pain, and back pain – they can even affect the way we walk and sleep! 😱

Research suggests that the adductor muscles work synergistically to provide side-to-side stabilisation of the pelvis.

Make sure you stretch and release AND strengthen... that video is coming soon 😉

Personality: The unique patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that distinguish a person from others.

Have you ever questioned the way certain people make decisions, or say the things they do? Or maybe you’ve wondered why people just don’t get you.

Cue in Personality Theory. Today on the show I chat with my good friend and Personality Typing expert, Sarah Tuhoro on all things personality types. We discuss why it matters to understand your own personality type and how that will help you in your work, life and relationships.

Sarah breaks down how personality typing can help you understand:

- Why you do and say the things you do
- Your preferred style of communicating
- How you make decisions.
- How to leverage your strengths and build on your weaknesses for greater success
- How understanding yourself will help you understand others

Honouring and embracing your individuality by understanding your personality type will help to bring you greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and the space to accept and embrace others for who they are.

This is Part 1 of Personality Typing with Sarah. Tune into the next episode coming up in a few week’s time where we will announce some exciting news and give you the chance to get typed by Sarah!

My number one value is to "help create a love of movement". - Katie

This week's episode, I have the pleasure of chatting with trainer and strength coach Katie St.Clair. Katie is passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals while always considering their postural balance and joints and what I really love about Katie is her holistic approach to movement. Her skilful and precise explanations of what is happening biomechanically in different movements and how you can apply that to your own body is invaluable. If you head to her Instagram or her youtube channel you will see her address foundational principles around breathing mechanics, rib positioning spinal alignment and pelvis positioning and it’s through these teachings that have helped me become more aware of my ribs spine and pelvis in relation to exercise movements, especially those that require me to lift heavier and that is such a gift hat I’m grateful for so to chat with her today was super exciting for me.

In this episode we cover:

🍃Breathing mechanics and it's role in movement
💠Rib positioning, spinal alignment and pelvis positioning and understanding their links
❔How to apply this knowledge to your own sport and training
🏃‍♂We also talk about women and contact sports and how to train to build that resilience to withstand strong bumps, hits and tackles,
🤰We talk about pregnancy and how to prepare your body for all the changes
🌟We also chat towards the end about language and being kind to ourselves.
💡This episode has so much goodness and I’m so excited to bring this to you, Enjoy this conversation with Katie st Clair
