It was a slow day in the office with light conditions kicking off day 1 of the 60th Cherub Class Nationals at Largs Bay Sailing Club. But the 20 strong fleet from all over Australia managed to scrape in 2 races in what ended up being better breeze by the end of the second race.

With more light stuff forecast for the first half of the regatta, it'll be interesting to see how things play out on the other side of New Years celebrations. One thing's for sure though, they'll be playing for sheep stations at the bowls tonight!

The Cherub fleet were held ashore at Largs Bay Sailing Club a little longer today, to make use of the later breeze forecast. The decision paid off and the fleet managed two more races in light air, albeit better than yesterday's conditions.

With two bullets and two seconds, After Dark sailed by Nicole Barnes and Brett Lancaster are leading the regatta in the light stufff. But with only one point separating them from second place, in this weather the series is very much alive after 4 races. What happens after New Years with a little more breeze forecast, is anyone's guess.

Largs Bay finally delivered that classic seabreeze for the 20 strong Cherub fleet, on day 3 of their 60th Nationals, out of Largs Bay Sailing Club.

While the competition got a little shake up, giving some of the heavier crews the chance to stretch their legs, the spirits were still high as sailors could be heard hooting and hollaring with excitement after their run to each of the marks.
