Keeping it simple

So this week I started a new job - naturally I was thinking about what to wear to my first day. You want to make a good impression without ousting others and make them uncomfortable. Especially when there is no dress code at the office und you are not sure how others dress.

So I opted for an easy combination - the menswear uniform. A classic that has never failed me. Making it a bit more casual with an OCBD and a light blue sweater vest for fun. Black loafers and you’re good to go.

Pitti 107 - day 4

A casual travel outfit I dubbed “The Ranchhand”. It features a cashmere turtleneck underneath a checked flannel shirt paired with vintage Dickies chinos and suede boots. Notable also the vintage suede jacket, hat and shades.

Pitti 107 - day 3

Today a little more British with a khaki corduroy suit and fair isle vest, paired with a green tweed tie and beige flannel shirt.

The dark brown flat cap and darker shoes tie it all together. As it is a very windy and cold day I also opted for a tweed coat to protect me from the elements.

Pitti 107 - day 2

A mix of sartorialism and western wear sums up this look pretty much. Western boots and shirt paired with a flannel chalk stripe suit and bandana. All covered by a vintage shearling coat.

Pitti Uomo 107 - day 1

It’s good to be back at Pitti and Florence - meeting a lot of friends and also making new acquaintances.

This was my outfit for the first day - a military infused look with black flannel trousers, black turtleneck, an army style shirt and a vintage army coat.

Brown and berry

Layers are a great way to fight the colder weather and at the same time to add some contrast or bolder color to an outfit - like I did here to spruce up the brown combination with a berry sweater vest.

A light brown affair

Even if we have some contrast here I still consider it somewhat tonal. The jacket is a recent vintage find I couldn’t resist cut from a soft tweed fabric.

The trousers have been in my wardrobe quite a while now and tbh I don’t really like the narrow leg anymore but you gotta work with what you got amirite?

Bringing Country back

A classic combination which I always associate with British country aesthetics- Tweed, corduroy and heavy lambswool knit. All held in earthy/neutral colors and paired with a burgundy striped BD shirt and a matching neckerchief.

Triple flannel

Nothing beats flannel warm a warm and cozy - yet classy outfit. So why not go all in on it with a pair of flannel trousers, a flannel shirt and safari style jacket.

1st work outfit of the year

A new year has started and it’s back to work (for now). Going with a rather light combo with grey flannels and a blue/white cashmere jacket and cream flannel shirt. For contrast I used a navy cardigan and a woolen blackwatch tie.

Last fit post of the year

Closing out the photo posts with a dad core look with a dash of Americana. The star of the show is the vintage suede jacket with woven inlets.
The rest is a comfortable das combo with cream corduroys, a denim shirt and a heavy knit vintage cardigan. The watch cap is knit by me after the 1941 Red Cross pattern.

Black/white edit

Showing some new additions to my wardrobe with the black cashmere polo shirt and two tone loafers. I’ve been tempted by two tone loafers for quite some time so when I stumbled across these beauties on I had to make a move.

A Guy Richtie Christmas

Guy Richtie is known for impeccable style/costumed in his movies. If ever he were to make a Christmas movie I imagine one of the characters wearing something like this. IMHO an outfit well fitting for. Kristina’s or Boxing Day. Relaxed, year stylish and well dressed.

The benefit of high waisted trousers?

You can wear cool cropped jackets which is awesome.

The glencheck cropped jacket quickly has become one of my go to casual jackets - I mean just look at the pattern and that giant collar 😍

Underneath I’m wearing a grey pearl snap shirt and fair isle sweater vest paired with taupe slacks - a little brown/yellow silk neckerchief to fully commit to that retro feel of the look.

Nothing fancy - or is it? 🤔

As I promised some of you - here are stills and details of the look from my recent reel. Most likely one of my favorite fall/winter color combos - camel/off white/grey.

Here in a more casual version with a jacket design with flap pockets and elbow patches and a heavy knit polo shirt contrasted by the fine silk of the neckerchief. All accompanied by the fall/winter workhorse: grey flannel trousers.
