Free improvisation with a punk jazz attitude.

Three musicians (tenor sax, vocals + fx, baritone sax) from Argentina, Buenos Aires and a drummer from Austria, Bezau.
Teamed up online met in Berlin and pushed a record at Bonello Studios.

This is the outcome mixed by Martin Ruch, and hey! Valentin Gerhardus came up with a remix!!

Leipzig based Max Stadtfeld isn't just an outstanding drummer and improviser. He's also a warm-hearted optimist, an enthusiastic forward-thinker. In times of multiple crises and facing fundamental challenges, he now ventures with "Fancy Future" to attempt a utopian counter- design. The latest album by his quartet, STAX, will be released on June 14th by Boomslang Records, accompanied by a comic book designed by Ebony Schneeweiß. It distills Max Stadtfeld's essence like never before - his brilliant playing, his unique compositional signature, but also his infectious optimism. "Fancy Future" is both a hopeful plea for more empathy, compassion, and camaraderie, but also a call to recognize that there is still much work and rethinking ahead of us.

HAPPY NEW YEAR dear Musiclovers!!!

we are excited to share CHATTERING TEETH with you. A project which made a dream come true to my humble self. In the late 90ies I spent a couple of months in New York City dipping into the jazz-scene in clubs like the Tonic, the Knitting Factory, Smalls, the 55 bar ... you name it. I was dreaming of a career as a musician in the Big Apple. Life had other plans ...

almost 25 years later I had the first chance ever to record in New York with these incredible cats Hery Paz, Sana Nagano Music and Max Johnson. I met Hery earlier in 2022 at the Moods Zurich through my friend and brother Demian Cabaud and we had an immediate swing going between our personalities. At moers festival I had the chance to play with Sana as well as Max on different sessions the same year ...and we planned that whenever I would make it to NY we would get in touch and try to play again.
So September 2022 was the moment we could make it happen - we all got together in Brooklyn at Big Orange Sheep studio and had a blast.
Here we share our music with you and hope you gonna like it!
