[REVIEW] The final round of the year happened, and the leaders served themselves.

All three leaders managed to win their respective games and continue to separate from the other clubs.

• Rijeka and Hajduk won last Sunday against Slaven and Šibenik (Dalmatian Derby). The Bili had a tough time fighting the Narančasti even when the local side had two players less than Hajduk, while Rijeka couldn’t break the Farmaceuti in the first half, only finding precision in the final third of the game.
• Dinamo’s struggle with Varaždin was emotional. Their first win since the beginning of November came with two own-goals, mistakes, and late goals. Bjelica finally has some peace and can dream about Arsenal in January.
• Another team that looks to be resting happily is Lokomotiva. The Lokosi suffered throughout the first half of the season but lately got two consecutive wins that put them out of danger, for now... An incredible 4-1 victory over Gorica at Gradski Stadion with Mudražija scoring a hat trick in the final 10 minutes was enough to celebrate.
• Osijek and Istra drew at Opus Arena, and the incredible news of the departure of Tramezzani in favor of the re-entry of Gonzalo García hit P**a a few days after this game. The Zeleno-Žuti couldn’t hold a two-goal lead, and despite a four-match unbeaten streak, it seems that this was the final straw for the Italian coach.

The season will return in late January with Dinamo playing their final Champions League’s league stage match before Round 19.

[REVIEW] Lokomotiva demolished Gorica 4-1.

When you have a new team that’s ready for HNL (Šibenik) and they disrupt the peace of the Lower 5, you have this amazing season where everyone can get relegated.

• Lokomotiva was a complete beast today at Velika Gorica’s Gradski Stadion and they left the immediate relegation menace.
• Robert Mudražija scored the fastest ever hat trick of HNL and is now one of the best goalscorers of the season. Duje Čop opened the scoresheet and Jurica Pršir momentarily equalized the game.
• Banić suffered a terrible afternoon.

[FIXTURE] The final round of the year is here!

We finally reach the end of the year and everyone is playing for something.

• Leaders Rijeka must play against a rejuvenated Slaven, who, after suffering a horrible beginning of the season, now appear to have finally found their pace.
• Hajduk has the difficult task of traveling to Šibenik for a new edition of the Dalmatian Derby. A turbulent present for the Narančasti should be manageable for Gattuso’s side.

[STANDINGS] Changes in relegation, stalemate in the front.

• Hajduk and Rijeka shared points in the newest edition of the Adriatic Derby and both got a point away from a falling Dinamo, that now shares 3rd place with Osijek and Varaždin.
• Slaven got 3 huge points against Gorica and sent them to the last position of the leaderboard as the Lokosi did the same in the last Zagrebački Derby of the Kranjčevićeva.

The final Round of 2024 will start on Friday and end on Sunday.

[FIXTURE] We are reaching the end of the year, and the fight for 1st place continues.

Slaven and Gorica will open the 17th Round while the Adriatic Derby will close it, in between, the Zagrebački Derby will be played on Saturday’s 1st game. Varaždin and Osijek’s match will show us the new 4th place while Istra can get away from relegation with a win hosting Šibenik.

[CHAMPIONSLEAGUE] Dinamo drew with Celtic and the European spring dream continues.

• The Plavi fought with the Scottish powerhouse with a few soldiers down due to injuries but still managed to earn a point.
• Bjelica sent Pjaca as starter maybe trying to repeat Marko’s performance 10 years ago, but sadly the team didn’t produce as many offensive situations to score. Up until the end, where an on target header was his final play of the night.
• Both defensive lines played great and neither keeper had many responsibilities.
• Celtic and Dinamo held their playoff positions and they are marching ahead, thinking in spring.

[REVIEW] Say hello to the new leaders of the league!

• Rijeka out powered Šibenik at Šubićevac and won 1-0 to claim the same points as Hajduk, but with better goal difference.
• Niko Janković missed a penalty and the first real chance the open the scoresheet. A few minutes later, Mladen Devetak performed a beautiful long range shot that was impossible for Đaković to stop.
• The rain presented a clear danger for both teams as it intensified throughout the match.
• The Narančasti made a few shots that were problematic for Zlomislić, but in the end, they never got a chance to scared the Bosnian keeper.

• I love when football doesn’t make sense, the best team of the season couldn’t defeat the worst!
• Pršir played an amazing game and assisted Krizmanić to secure the first win since Istra in late October.
• With VAR in his side, Dario Bel whistled penalty after a handball from Pavlović, but Livaja’s goal was canceled after an incredible save from Banić!
• The Gorica escape relegation while the Bili are at mercy of Rijeka’s win tomorrow against Šibenik to hold 1st place alone.

[REVIEW] Slaven surprised a weak Dinamo and stole a big point from Maksimir.

• The Plavi and the Farmaceuti shared points in Zagreb thanks to goals from Kačavenda (his first) and Grgić.
• Bjelica is suffering a serious performance leak due to many key players, and even 2nd tier players, getting injuries. This has become one of the worst months in Dinamo’s latest years.
• Thanks to Sušak’s heroic saves, Slaven is now 6th after a complicated beginning of the season with an unbeaten record of 6 (3 wins, 3 draws).

[FIXTURE] We are reaching the end of the year, and Round 16 begins today!

• Dinamo reached a turbulent present were they hadn’t won since the 4-1 against Slovan a MONTH AGO, something unthinkable for a club like them. Can they break the bad luck against the Farmaceuti?
• Tomorrow, Varaždin must hold its 4th place against a happier Istra. The Bumbari have the guns to eliminate their rivals, but the Zeleno-Žuti are a fortress in P**a.
• The leaders travel to Velika Gorica to face the home side. The Bili arrived after defeating their toughest nemesis and they can’t stop when Rijeka’s lurking behind them.
• A not so much coastal Derby between Šibenik and Rijeka open the Sunday games! The Narančasti can’t spend much time losing again and must compete against a club that wants to be first again.

[STANDINGS] Hajduk and Rijeka escape, Dinamo suffers.

• The Bili won a tough derby against the Plavi and remains on top, while Rijeka do its chores with Gorica, despite being a player down.
• Varaždin surpassed Osijek after beating Šibenik and the Osiječanin lost in Koprivnica in a tremendous match with Slaven.
• Istra finally won again and now are 4 points above relegation.

For the next round, we will have the 2nd edition of the Eternal Derby!

[CHAMPIONSLEAGUE] Dinamo suffered a heavy defeat, but qualifying is still possible.

• Goals from Gittens, Bensebaini and Guirassy gave Borussia 3 big points thinking about ending the League phase in the top 8 positions.
• Bjelica couldn’t count on with the top 3 midfielders and had to rely on young debutant Branko Pavić to complete the lineup, without Kulenović or Pjaca. He played without a classical n°9 and sent Baturina and Kačavenda as “strikers”.
• I really didn’t like the how he put the players on the pitch, but for 40 minutes, before the first goal, it looked like at least a draw was possible.
• Now Dinamo seats 23rd (above Real Madrid) with chances to qualify for the Playoffs.

• Another weekend where the top 5 end with draws, results in a dramatic ending as Sibenik and Slaven win after many winless weeks.
• Only Hajduk remains as the 2 points per game team, as Rijeka drew for the 4th time in their last 5 games.
• Istra is the only team that hasn’t won in their last 5 matches (vs Osijek Round 9).

[REVIEW] Slaven’s braveheart gave them crucial 3 points in the relegation fight.

• Istra got the early start as Lisica celebrated the opener, but Slaven responded with Igor Lepinjica’s first Farmaceuti goal. Marco Boras turned the tide around but the home side equalized with Gagua’s goal only for Ante Šuto’s late goal to give another win for his team.
• Slaven holds a 4-matches of undefeated rhythm, while Istra lost its 6th place against todays rival and Tramezzani must start working since they haven’t won since the start of October.

[FIXTURE] After the final International Break, we have Round 14!

• Istra opens the weekend against Slaven. The Farmaceuti are last once again and a win, will get them to the Zeleno-Žuti grounds. The team led by Tramezzani struggled a bit to earn a win, but they also demonstrated valor against Hajduk.
• Varaždin is clearly looks like one of the top 5 this season, and they can cement that call with a win against Lokomotiva. The Bumbari hasn’t lost in the last 4 matches, while the Lokosi sent Šibenik down below the standings.
• Rijeka remains as the sole unbeatable squad in the league, and they must defend that title against Dinamo at Maksimir. Both are seeking to remove the margin between them and Hajduk, they can’t draw.
• After a really difficult beginning, Osijek finally looks strong again and they must face the leaders, a great chance to demonstrate why they won 3 of the last 4 games they played. Hajduk stumble in the final 2 games and they are only 3 points above Rijeka.
• Šibenik and Gorica share with Lokomotiva the 12 points status. After an incredible start, the Narančasti are screaming for help, a cry out that isn’t heard by anyone as they haven’t won since round 4. Gorica? The Goričani earnt 4 of the last 9 possible points.

• After a tense first half where Joao Felix scored the opening goal, the Vatreni equalized with Gvardiol’s first goal of the tournament to secure 2nd place in Group A1.
• Dalić started with his classic 3-5-2 before surrendering to his old 4-2-3-1 in the second half.
