In this issue #191, we have the honor of presenting in an exclusive interview with this tattoo master.
Boris, a pioneer of realistic tattooing since the 1990s, has been recognized as a contemporary artist by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome (MACRO) and has closely collaborated with leading tattoo industry manufacturers.
His dedication to teaching and his influence on the development of modern techniques have left a lasting mark on the art of tattooing.
Since the 1990s, he has been sharing his knowledge about the evolution of tattooing as an art form, teaching at his studio and speaking at the first international series of seminars, the World Tattoo Conference, held in Rome, Chicago, and London.
After a long series of seminars and workshops, he began organizing his own conferences at his studio in Vienna, which were later distributed in film format and gained great popularity.
Boris felt that short seminars and workshops could only convey a limited part of his experience. From this need, the idea of creating a complete and comprehensive resource was born. Thus, over a year and a half, he developed a website that documents and shares all the knowledge he has accumulated over the past 26 years.
He has also served as a jury member for our international competition, bringing his expert perspective and unparalleled career to the event.

The DGN TATTOO MAGAZINE 21 YEARS Bookazine is much more than a publication: it is the official book of the international tattoo competition, a collector’s edition that celebrates more than two decades of history, art, and evolution.
Within its pages, we bring together more than 100 artists from around the world, selected for their talent, style, and projection. We are pleased to announce that the great , a pioneering new school tattoo artist, will be our JUDGE at the DGN TATTOO MAGAZINE 21st Anniversary INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION! It is an honor to have his expertise and vision to select this year's winners, including the prestigious "Winner of Winners."

Jesse has had a passion for art for as long as he can remember. He started creating his own artwork as a teenager in Heidelberg, Germany, where his father was stationed in the military. He quickly became interested in urban culture and graffiti art.
After returning to high school and moving back to the United States, he joined the military. One of his first jobs was drawing caricatures at Busch Gardens in Virginia, where he was introduced to a circle of artists who introduced him to the world of tattooing. He began drawing flash art and eventually learned to build his own homemade tattoo machine. From that moment on, he never stopped tattooing. He enrolled at Virginia Commonwealth University to specialize in illustration and refine his artistic skills. Jesse began tattooing professionally in Richmond, Virginia, before moving to London to tattoo with the internationally renowned artist, Bugs. Afterward, he returned to Richmond, where he opened his own tattoo studio, Loose Screw Tattoo, and now organizes one of the oldest tattoo conventions in the U.S.
Jesse continues to perfect his signature style of quirky cartoon designs, continually improving his use of color. Today, he is known as one of the most influential New School tattoo artists in the world..dgntattoomag

A master of dark, surrealist, and gothic art for nearly four decades, is a renowned tattooist, fine artist, filmmaker, sculptor, and musician. His transgressive and provocative work explores complex themes like mental illness and torment, making him a key figure in alternative culture. He has been honored by the National Arts Club, one of the most prestigious art institutions in the U.S.
In the 1990s, his unmistakable style made him the go-to artist for celebrities like Slayer, Pantera, Slipknot, and WWE stars. His demand extended to album covers and artwork, solidifying the Last Rites brand, which he has developed since the late '80s. His iconic Last Rites Tattoo Theatre & Gallery in Manhattan was a testament to his visionary approach.
Paul continues to push artistic boundaries, from oil paintings reflecting the apocalyptic nature of the COVID-19 pandemic to designing homeware, clothing, and jewelry. Victoria Lee is one of the most influential figures in hyperrealistic tattooing, with over 10 years of experience in the tattoo world. Born in China, she began her artistic journey at the age of 4, learning to draw. Her formal training was at the prestigious Tsinghua University, where she graduated, and before becoming a tattoo artist, she worked as a fashion designer. However, her passion for art led her to change direction and focus on tattooing, a discipline that allowed her to combine her artistic talent with the opportunity to create permanent pieces.
In 2014, Victoria began her tattoo career, learning self-taught through Instagram and YouTube, despite the difficulties of accessing these platforms in China. Her first tattoo, a portrait of "The Godfather," marked the beginning of her career in hyperrealism, and since then, she has gained recognition for her ability to capture the finest details in each piece. Her style is characterized by portraits that are extremely faithful to the original references, where each piece seems to come to life.
Throughout her career, Victoria has built an international reputation and has become one of the most sought-after artists for conventions and exhibitions. Her impact on the tattoo industry, particularly in the realm of hyperrealism, has been profound, and she continues to evolve with every new work.
